Eisenmann Exhaust for SL55 AMG

I was just at Willow Automotive in Chicago this past weekend and they were installing a Eisenmann Race performance exhaust on a SL55 AMG. I must say the sound was amazing it was so deep and throaty. What are your guys thoughts on the Eisenmann exhaust?

Have you listened to them stock vs Eisenmann to compare them? The racing exhaust is on my mod wish list.

I love the Eisenmann line of exhausts, infact I might be ordering one for our CLK430 in a few weeks. Racing of course.

It also passes the mom test, she can't tell that it's there when she drives, but when you give it some gas, it roars up nicely. Not bad like 4-bangers and the 200$ job, but refined.

I've never heard an exhaust as sweet as the stock exhaust on my SL55... Any performance gains?

The guys at Willow Automotive said that you will see about 10-12hp with the Eisenmann...not bad

It's not a lot of hp increase, but it is some.

we are talking about the sl55 not the sl600 right?" the actual performance of the car is spoken of in glowing terms by owners. but almost without exception those same owners speak of the exhaust note as being orgasmic. that's what you get with that car. i love the low, mellow yet nasty sound of the 600 myself. i think it's unique but others think it's wimpy. but no one has ever complained about their 55. unless you've seen and heard this done, don't spend money on something you're going to regret. by the way, can you believe terrell owens? what an idiot.

IS that Brake HP or Rear wheel HP? In my world of mods, I want to at least 20RWHP with any bolt-on mod, especially an expensive exhaust. I've had too many years of companies claiming 10+ HP gains with bolt-ons like exhausts and feeling next to nothing as a result. Anything below 20RWHP you will struggle to feel any SOTP (seat of the pants) difference. It also depends what part of the rev curve is effected, low, mid, or top end. Otherwise just buy it for the sound and don't worry about the performance claims.

i'm excited about Kreis-sieg's F1 Valvetronic exhaust for the sl55. i can't imagine the sound - the powerboat-like v8 rumble of the 55 plus a kreis-sieg exhaust when on muffler bypass mode!!!

Black SL55 with Kleemann effects, Black 911 Porsche

Got one on my SL55. Took out the sound resonators as well. Sounds louder than a Viper and about the same as a power boat. Becareful for what you wish for cause I barely can talk on the phone inside the car. Loud and throaty is the word.

I've heard the Eisenmann race set up on a CLK500 recently and it definitely sounds nice.

fast cars and faster motorcycles ..

i have a 9ff exhaust on my porsche turbo. It is switchable from quiet to loud. fast boats have the same thing. sometimes you want it mild and other times wild. (LOUD) .. flip a switch... it is the only way to go. maserati has it .. i would be interested to see if one is available for a SL55..
