Question Among the 3 ONLY, which rims would you get?

Which is better on a SL 55, Brabus Monoblock VI, Carlsson 1/16 Ultra Light Weight or Lorinser LM-6? All in 19" Which would you get?

How about some pix, so we don't each have to do the research.

Monoblock VI

Carlsson 1/16

Lorinser LM-6

I'd get the Carlsson because they weight the least.

I have the Brabus Monoblock VI's on my SL55 and the Carlsson 1/16's on my E55... Not a fan of the Lorinser's though my next door neighbor has them on his SL500.

The Carlsson's are much more performance oriented and I immediately felt a performance and handling difference when I slapped them on my E55... however... I don't think any rim out there compliments the looks of the SL better than the Brabus VI's.

In any event, after riding on the 20's for a year I'm going to say that the 19's are a better choice...

Thanks, Ricky.

Carlsson. Hub area too large on the Brabus. Turbine look is weird on the Lorinsers.

IMHO, of course,

Of those three the Carlssons are the only choice. I have the Lowenhart LSR's 20" X 11" and they look awesome.

Out of these 3 none. I'd pick the SL65 19" rims. I don't like deep dish (lips) on any rim. Gives it that 'gipsy' look (no offense, just IMHO).

On an SL....without a doubt the Monoblocks. Besides of it being easier to clean, it will go well on your car....IMO.

There's a reason though. They look fantastic and weigh very little compared to other rims in the category.

The Carlsson's are awesome wheels indeed... and I paid less for them than I did the Brabus Monoblock VI's (multipiece).

Mas, how can you be worried about cost? You'll burn $30K in a 6 month trade-in and not blink an eye.

Brabus look the best for me, but I wouldn't know which is the better rim from a performance standpoint.

The Carlssons. The rest weigh a boatload.

Weight is the number one enemy to performance. Especially unsprung weight (wheels, tires, suspension, brakes).

I believe it's something like every 10lb = 4hp or something silly like that.
Either way though, it's not really HP it frees up, but it allows better handling.

WOW! Those are sexy!

BTW, Ricky, it is generally accepted that for every ONE pound of unsprung weight equals anywhere from 4-7HP. Add a pound and you'll feel like you lose the HP. Take it off and your car will feel faster.

Incredible. I believe my current 18" stockers weight around 50lbs. If I go to a forged type of rim, I'll come down to around 33lb.

That means, I've saved some 17lb per corner. 68lb overall.

68 * 4 = 272hp
Of course though, that's got to be insanely off. I don't think that takes in for account my kind of situation
