654 Hp.- 902 Nm. / 665 ft/lb.

Got my SL back from KLEEMANN.

They fitted a stage 4 kit, 60% LSD, Lowering module, Bigger water pump for I/C, bigger hoses and radiator for I/C.

The car is BRUTAL. 1 gear, lots of wheelspin, going sideway´s, 2 gear, wheelspin, still going sideway´s, 3 gear, wheelspin when shifting up, going sideway´s. ( ESP off.)

Car had 520 Hp. stock. ( initial dyno).

We modified the stock AMG exhaust. GREEEAT sound.

Pictures are taken when picked up car at KLEEMANN Headquarters.

Car will be lowered further when new wheels are fitted.

Year, they look great, dont they.

KLEEMANN makes nice stuff.

When i was there, they told me that they are working on additional modifications for the V8 ( stage 5 ? ), but they didn´t want too be more specific.

Anyway, they are close to release the hydraulic scissor doors. What do you people think about that feature ? I would go for it, but not sure yet. ( also known as lambo doors ).

It is one of the early models, they where more powerfull than the later ones. If i get this right, it was the equal power with the SL600, that made AMG take back on the SL55.

When we get some better weather, i will take it to the German Autobahn, and try it out. Theoretically the topspeed schould be beyond 220 Mph, but it is difficult to get tires for higher speeds than 200 Mph, that fits the car legaly.

Patience my friend.

Anyone know a server for uploading vidio and sound files ?

Dude, awesome, but be safe. None of us are advocating that you should do a top speed run. Even 0-100mph run will suffice.

And don't cheap out, we want high quality files so we can hear what you hear!

Hi SLCharger,
I also have an sl55 kleemann and i have just had stage 4 fitted.(they claim 640BHP)but it did not consist of any modifications to the intercooler (bigger water pump/radiator) just a new throttle body and a modified inlet house.
How did you get those modifications to the intercooler, because i am having serious overheating issues, and I want kleemann to help sort it out.

Also,is your car fully de-restricted?? and have you tested it?? because mine was fully de-restricted by kleemann, then at a VMAX event last weekend it cut out at 179mph!!

I would appreciate your help.

Hi John

The I/C modification was done with the parts from their own program and is not a part of the stage 4 system. They made these modification upon my request. Ask them for the parts they use when fitting their own S/C. The AMG parts are Sh*t. The only thing that can be reused is the I/C fitted under the S/C. That part is okay.

My car was delimited before it was tuned, and it made around 200 Mph, stock. I have not tested topspeed since it was tuned, but i intend to as soon as i get the opportunity.

Good luck.

Thanx for the reply.. I have spoken to Kleemann and they can also fit these parts to my car,but i have to send it to Denmark, which isnt really a problem as i can enjoy a nice drive back to London afterwards (via Amsterdam probably)

May i also ask what prompted you to go for these extra intercooler parts, and what benefits you have noticed??I have been experiencing very high engine temp, around 100 deg, after 5-10 mins of intense driving, which then affects horsepower.

BTW,your car is awesome!! What wheels are you geting?? I have the Carlsson Ultralight 1/16 in 19".

Hi John.

The AMG I/C setup, and especially the Bosch pump is known to do a bad job. This is resulting in overheated engine, and cutout of S/C, with total los of power, for a short time of period. With that in mind, there was no doubt for me to go for these parts. If you get the job done in Farum, try let Rene run your car on the dyno. He is the best of those guy´s, and he can proberbly just get a few more HP out of your engine.

While my car was on the dyno, it ran with max horsepower, and a constant temp. in the I/C of 24 degree Celsius.

If your car still is overheating, after the overwork at Kleemann, you should fit a bigger engine oilcooler. That will do the job.

I am getting RHE high polish series 547R, fitted with Conti tyres. 19" front, 20" back.

Some like the mother, some like the daughter. I have Mich. PS2 on my AMG wheels, but i have always been a Conti guy. At Kleemann they recomend Conti for my car, by the way. They claim that it better handles the power.

You state that your lips are cromed. How come, at HRE they told me that option is not avalible ? My lips are polished.
