Yes it helps. And very much too. Especially highway speeds are very tiresome with open roof. The windscreen together with the windows makes it very relaxing.
And as an added bonus the Mrs stops complaining about the open roof too.

thanks guys, i ordered a new one from ebay for $375. i just wish they would fold in half like the porsche's windscreen.

I had one as standard with the car and don't use it because the ties which attach it to the roll-over hoop mark the leather, so it's pretty much a case of eitherer leaving it off or leaving it permanently set. If you remove it, you are left with pressure marks which may or may not come out. The R230 is not as good in this regard as the old R129, there is rather more buffetting.
