Wink One BIG advantage that SL 600 has over SL 55/65 ...

that is ... speedometer
compare:

Regular speedo in SL 600 makes an illusion that your car accelarates faster - needle moves faster because of the scale
when the speed limiter activates [250 km/h] on AMG Benz you've merely passed half of the scale but on SL 600 there is almost nothing left.

On the other hand, 330 km/h on the AMG scale - impressive, 260 on SL600 - unremarkable ...

It is a little silly to have the speedo go up to speeds way over how fast the car can go, and it makes it hard to see exactly how fast you're going at normal highway speeds without turning on the digital readout.

Maybe they're thinking about coasting down a *really* steep hill. Or maybe they want you to be able to use that same speedo if you (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) delimit the car.

I just wonder what happens when you delimit SL600 and find long enough highway 250,255,260 and then ?? is the speedo going to break when you go 300 km/h ?

I guess when your car is delimited you get a new "speedo" at least if it is delimited at a reasonably professional tuner

My SL55 speedometer has a AMG logo a V8 Kompressor logo.

Call me reckless but when I accelerate I'm watching where I'm going - not eyeballing the speedometer thinking "Man I wish it had different scale..."

My old E55 was modded by Renntech,S600 by Kleemann and nobody messed with the speedo itself.
When I got either car to 155mph and kept going ,the needle was just resting against the stop, digital was also frozen at the "limit".
Quite annoying.......

I wouldn't say there is anything too ordinary about any R230, but thats just me.

Well, I should have put the word 'ordinary' in quotes. Still, the AMG magic dust definitely adds to the festivities.
