One BIG advantage that SL 600 has over SL 55/65 ...
that is ... speedometer
compare:
Regular speedo in SL 600 makes an illusion that your car accelarates faster - needle moves faster because of the scale
when the speed limiter activates [250 km/h] on AMG Benz you've merely passed half of the scale but on SL 600 there is almost nothing left.
On the other hand, 330 km/h on the AMG scale - impressive, 260 on SL600 - unremarkable ...

Maybe they're thinking about coasting down a *really* steep hill. Or maybe they want you to be able to use that same speedo if you (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) delimit the car.

My SL55 speedometer has a AMG logo a V8 Kompressor logo.
Call me reckless but when I accelerate I'm watching where I'm going - not eyeballing the speedometer thinking "Man I wish it had different scale..."

When I got either car to 155mph and kept going ,the needle was just resting against the stop, digital was also frozen at the "limit".
Quite annoying.......
