2007 SL 55 now on MB USA website

Ive been checking this every few days and there is now a link for the 2007 SL55.

http://www.mbusa.com/models/main.do?modelCode=SL55

The build your own site is not up yet. Some of the links dont work yet, but it shouldnt be long now.

Price has increased to 129,575.

Ive got one ordered for August European Delivery pickup in August.

Definitely getting the performance package, pano roof, parktronic, voice control, ventilated seats. Sirius radio is apparently standard now.
Havent decided on colors, but thinking of Designo espresso if available. I think they changed the interior for espresso to a sand color which is lighter.

Make 100% certain you want the pano roof. It's really the one option where regrets have been noted.

See if you can un check the Sirius if they are going to put that fugly wart on the trunk. Go aftermarket and get it hidden in the front bonnet grill. I saw several warts at the dealers on Saturday. Yuck!

I have one on my 2003 SL500 and like it. What have the regrets been about?

It looks like they took the MSRP off the website now... interesting. I wonder if 129,575 is going to be correct.

I did not like anything about the Pano Roof. If it's hot you will pull the shade, if it is OK temp you will have the roof down. Why bother. JMHO

notice the "specs" picture appears to have the sport package for the sl55 and not an sl55... (you can tell by the clear taillights instead of smoked) that and they screwed up on the price and replaced with TBA.. you would think mercedes would have some double checkers before putting up modifications to their site.. :I

I hadn't thought about the extra weight. I might have to reconsider. I know that I can definitely feel the difference in the Sl500 when my girlfriend is in the passengers seat and she is a bit over 100 lbs...more or less

I found this interior on the AMG site and I think this is the one that calls my name. That red is gorgeous. This is the 2007 facelift interior...carbon fiber, chrome roof switch, etc... so that red should be available as a 2007 option. Hopefully it will be available in the US. Does anyone know the name of the red?

Yes. My dealer says the 55 is now available for ED discount. 7% off list price only, not on the options. Still, it will pay for the trip and then some.

sloppy@MB...

in an open e-mail to MB:

dear sloppy,
please take a look at this copy-paste from the Features & Specs page of the new SL550 section of your website.

P2:Premium II details
$6,650
Includes all contents of Premium I and II packages plus:
Distronic
Parktronic

how can PREMIUM PACKAGE II include all of PREMIUM PACKAGE I and PREMIUM PACKAGE II plus Distronic and Parktronic?
did you intend to write that PREMIUM PACKAGE II includes itself? probably not.
please endeavor to attend to the details of your website, much as we'd all appreciate you attending to the details of the production and service of our cars. if you at MB would do so, then we'd all be much happier much more of the time.
thanking you in advance,
david

I was in the 17 last year, I missed it this year. I'm not the pilot of the 17, I flew some years back both fixed wing and helicopter but haven't for sometime now. If any of you would like a ride in a B-17, 24 or 25 look here: www.collingsfoundation.org
I highly recommend it.

I fly friends planes both single and multi whenever I get the chance to, haven't been in a "fling-wing" for sometime now

Sl55 My2003...

so, i just got word from my preferred dealer that they have a single-owner car acquired from them, lacking only parktronic and distronic. the price is right.

of course, they complicated matters by informing me that a "compelling" SL65 just became available. so, i'm awaiting another EM tomorrow.

i thought this would be so easy... LOL.
