WTF is an American-market "1997 E220"?

I could perhaps understand if it was a different part of the world, where it wasn't uncommon to find 2.x liter E-classes and 3.x liter S-classes, but it's different in America where "big" is king and gas is "relatively" cheap.

I think there was a 260E in the late 1980's and early 1990's (in W124 form), but a 1997 E220 makes no sense whatsoever.

It's £ in the UK not $ :P

What do you do in the UK to be paid £320k pa considering you say you made so little in comparision when back in the US?

You like Derbyshire? I'm not saying my home town is much better. Wait until the winter comes, you'll be mighty home sick.

You drive to London too from Notts? Are you mad. We have things called trains that are pretty good.

E220 in the U.S. ... yeah .. .ummm yeah okay.

The only thing he owns is that POS Alfa Romeo.
Vik888, let's go easy on the artist ... he's been pretty badly exposed. The Alfa may not be a POS ... except for that ugly "wing" --

Huh??? Another point that makes all of us here very suspicious...

Statement "I sold our house" + statement "I could only afford '97 E220" + fact "I live in Iowa"
= fair assumption that you still had mortgage + avg. house in Iowa is $300K (anyone can confirm?)
= your equity cannot be $300-400K
= you cannot afford to buy SL500, SL65 and CL500 all at one time

Hmmm... money from your girlfriend.... that's more believable... but still... I doubt your equity + $100K E60 M5 = SL500 ($100K) + SL65 ($170K) + CL500 ($100K) + Alfa Romeo ($2K for 2004 Alfa Romeo????? Is this a POS or salvage or ??? If this is true, '04 Alfa Romeo is cheaper than '04 Hyundai????).

Plus... the things that made me doubt even more:
- Someone who drove E60 M5 wouldn't call 2.6 V6 Alfa Romeo "one hell of a car". It's just like I call Audi A4 is one hell of a car (and I only have an E55, not E60 M5). It's only someone who drove '97 E220 may call that "one hell of a car"
- Someone who could only afford '97 E220 but date a gf who could buy E60 M5 must be good on bed - disregard this... it's only for a joke

Sorry man.... your story doesn't add up.... but I must prop you for taking the attacks lightly.

Just show us some pictures of your SL65 + SL500 + CL500 altogether with your username on it.... we'll all apologize and shut our ****ty mouth up.

Sorry... I promise that I would shut up... but it seems I have too much time
