SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: England - WOAH
the days are hot, the cars are teaming round here i have NEVER seen so many exotics in my life, for instance this morning 3 new BMW m5's passed me and the other day a MClaren SLR shot passed me on the free way - My SL has been delivered
Unfortunatly at the moment she is stock to the bone
but not for long i am going to get this thing done to the eyes, new wheels, and i can remember you guys telling me about the mod where the car will be boosted up on its top speed etc and it makes it alot faster. The last 2 images are of my girlfriends car its a 2004 Alfa Romeo 156 (2.6 V6 T - SPARK ) it is one hell of a car, she is still looking for something like an E55 or something along them lines, she has fell in love with the S - Class

I miss Derbyshire a lot. Some of the best roads in the UK are up there, good times......

p.p.s jools sorry for the mis calculation they didnt promise me a mill ££ i worked it out wrong haha i always thought you got £2 for every $1 but its the other way around isnt it?
yes, I smell
Could be another troll.
(if not, please take my apology... after showing more proof
)Just to re-emphasize:
- Pictures not SL65
- $600K is not the same as GBP 1MM. US$1MM is about GBP $500-600K. For a person who said he's getting $600K... this mistake is not acceptable

- How could someone w/ an 1997 E220 (is there any?) all of a sudden become a car fanatic (SL65)? It is not impossible... (I know couple of millionares w/ ONLY a 1989 Accord
). But if it's true, it's either you've got electrocuted one night that reprogrammed your brain cells.... or you got a big raise by moving to UK (like making $50K in Iowa to US$600K in UK)
Which one is right?

London has some of the best restuarants in the world but the everyday fare is... um... so-so at best.

This is why (just showing my logical reasoning)
I would guess someone who said could only afford E220 (or whatever it is...) and live in Iowa (supposedly house price over there must be lower than CA or East Coast) would make far less than $100K.
I wouldn't guess this if you don't want to buy, instead of not able to afford. But if you could buy one (may be not SL65 but something a lot nicer than '97 E220... like E55 or SL500), why didn't you buy one in U.S. given you consider yourself as an MB fanatic? How come all of the sudden you become a big spender? Buying SL500, SL65, CL (is it 500 or 600?) and still look for another car for your gf?
But let's say you're making close to $100K (still if I were you, I wouldn't have said I couldn't afford a car nicer than '97 E220 - c'mon with no family you could get at least an 03 E320). I'm not sure what you're doing... but having a company offer you 600%+ salary plus, I assume, relocation package is one heck of an offer (I certainly want to know what kind of company this is....
). It's like jumping from an analyst position to a CEO position.Let's say that it's true you got 600% or 700% or even 1000% of your old salary, you wouldn't be able to buy SL500 and SL65 and CL at one time, especially short after moving to the new job. This requires around $300K-400K up front. And if a company is willing to pay you $600K, I'd guess you would be a lot wiser than buying cars and putting all of them in loans...
Previous savings? Hmmm... if you have that much of liquid savings, I wouldn't say you could only afford to buy '97 E220.... you should've said I just don't want to buy a nicer one.
Sign-in bonus? Wow.... if your sign-in bonus is $400K cash, this is even more one heck of an offer (I know that my new vice-chairman at my old company got $500K+ sign-in bonus w/ $400K-ish salary... but most of them are in the form of stock options, and the old salary, I think, around $300K - so it's not a super huge raise).
Once again, all of the above is still possible... and I don't want to be a hater... but everything is just too good to be true in economy like nowadays.... from "only able to afford E220" to "getting $600K salary and buying SL500, SL65 and CL all within couple months"

I'll leave to other members' perspective about this... and I would keep quiet until you've shown me some pics of your SL65

I'm done with this guy! And to think I was quite excited to hear from someone living in my ex-part of the world. Bugger!
His first post says his SL has been delivered .. now its on order .. yeeeah okay.
E220 in the U.S. ... yeah .. .ummm yeah okay.
The only thing he owns is that POS Alfa Romeo.

I don't think anyone making such amount of money will have such bad common sense on exchange rate.... come on..
btw, i have been in london a few times, each for a few weeks, the best i saw is a CL500 covered with dirts and rain... and i am talking about london in uk, not the one in Ontario Canada.
