Amazing SL55 AMG experience!!

A few days ago, I had the chance to see, and actually be driven in an SL55 AMG. As the SL is my dream car, I was thrilled to be able to experience and see the car first hand. How did this happen? Well, it was all thanks to another fellow MBWorld member, nightsea. A few weeks ago, I read the thread that he posted and noticed that we were in the same city, and I was able to contact him and meet up with him. He was nice enough to give me a thorough tour of the car, including his likes and dislikes about the car. As many of you hav already read, there were some minor quality and finish issues, but that was a minor moan, since the car it was was amazing. After a short inspection of the exterior, we sat in the car for a while. He explained some of the buttons and so on. There were enough gadgets and gizmos to please the nerdiest enthusiast. And the way the interior was sculpted was amazing; the lines and the trims, what grace! Well, to talk about sculptings, the exterior was another triumph in design as well, as everyone agrees. After this, he drove arround downtown Seoul a little bit, and when ever he had the chance, he showed off the cars ability to accelerate. I've been in a Ferrari before, and to tell you the truth, this car was more exciting to me. I'm still speachless from the experience, and regret that I'm not as eloquent a person to describe the experience in full detail. Yet, all I can say is that the car just simply blew me away. In short, this car is a gracious and elegant understatement of an amazing techo-power machine. And when I say understatment, I mean it in the sense that it doesn't have the flashyness of, say a Ferrari or a Lambo, which I think is too much attention for my taste. Thanks again, nightsea for the amazing experience!

thanks for the report

... and had the rain stopped so you could ride with the top down? If so, did you try it with the windblocker in place?

Windblocker

Yesterday I tested driving with windblocker upto 160km/h speed.
As Northbenz mentioned at other place, using windblocker gave
less wind-influence.

I closed both windows , so I felt my body was in a box with top open . My hair was fluttred by wind , but not seriously.
I can say the fluttering was similar to one by spring breeze.

One bad thing is ; I could not see the behind at all .
The windblocker is non transparant.

I think it can be made transparant .

( When I wrote the above , I did not know the windblocker
has two mesh screens and can be seperated. Using one
mesh screen , you can see the back.)

SL55 AMG
Not transparent at all? I thought it was made of fine mesh, like the one they used for the old SL?

Tail lights

Yes.
They are different from those of SL 500 , which have no dark
coloring.
