the one realllllly cool thing about the G is that fire comes out of pipes when they are hot. i was racing an E- gear in the 996 and when he downshifted a little blue flame came out! that was very memorable.

Been in a Ford GT, it's faster than my 600. In addition, pulley + headers + tune makes big power on the GT. It's a fantastic car, the steering response is unreal, better than even the 360CS. I'm not a big American car fan, but the Ford GT is a bad mother!

That is very cool, especially when it's very dark outside... the '06 Gs exhaust has been "upgraded" and now the Gs sound even sicker from the factory. The problem with the Gs is unless you go nuts and do like a TT setup, there really isn't any simple upgrades like there is with the 65 and GT. Factory forced induction baby!

In my area...

If you want to be seen as old money, you buy a SL65.

If you want to be seen as new money, you buy a Lambo (but there are more Murc around here than Gallardos).

Only Ford GT around here belongs to the owner of a local Ford Dealership. So nothing reall associated with that car.

............I think I am going to get a Ford GT. Can you direct me to a tuner or a source for the headers, pulley etc? Thanks.

I am the owner of an SL65 and a Ford GT

The GT has made me a believer that American know how is every bit as good, if not better, than anything in Europe. I have owned a 360 and a 430 and the GT has them both beat. Not one issue with the GT but have had plenty with the SL65, though I still think it is the best everyday driver ever made, thus far. PM me if you want further info on the GT.

550 H.p.

It is my understanding that all the GTs were 550H.P.

...............to follow up. On monday I went to my local Ford dealer with whom I did not have any prior relationship. They had a Ford GT. Grey color with light grey strips and red calipers. I thought the outside looked great but quite frankly, I did not like the interior. I was suprised that he offered me a test drive but I declined because after looking closely at the interior my excitement dwindled. I don't understand why Ford couldn't just make the interior a bit more appealing. I completely understand that the Ford GT is not really a GT but more of a race car, but..........anyway those are my thoughts.

My neighbor is selling his Ruf CTR sport for $180k. It is an absolute monster! For the money, I would take it over any of the above mentioned cars any day of the week. On the street or track, the Ruf would spank'em all. Same car but black on black:

ford gt will be the last choice for me.... simply put, the car is just plain ugly, also the exterior of the car... what's with the stripes... it looks completely outdated.... i wouldn't spend such money on a car whose style looks old and used even when the car is new .. ford is better off just make those big ugly trucks for american farmers..

but for SL and G, it's a tough choice... but proabbly SL will have more safety so that's a plus for me...

get a gallardo spyder

has the convertible you sort-of wanted at first

500hp and AWD

the ford GT was more of a concept car that they produced for hype and it backfired on them a little. but not as much as that chevy-pickup SSR thing, now that was a backfire for GM/ but the ford GT was made and i dont think they put their full attention towards it or atleast the wiring and cooling pricesses of it i would still take any car mentioned in this thread minus the SSR, unless it was free. if its free - its for mee

997TT! I'm still breaking mine in and I can't believe how fast triple digits appear on the display. Some in the press are getting 0-60 times in the very low 3s with tiptronic. Carbon ceramic brakes will pull you down so hard your passengers will be straining at their seatbelts. A loaded 997TT will leave you with enough $ left over to buy a beater car, as compared to the SL65 or Gallardo. Something simple like a ML500.

i too went to go look at a GT.
as for the interior being plain, yea, it is, but so is the SLR. i have sat in both, the GT is a LOT more comfterble, and the gear shifting was a little rough (maby because its been sitting for a while) but the clutch was really really smooth (smoother than a 996TTS imo.) but it was plain. i would still take it over the G or the 65 just because of the "wow" factor u get from driving/ sitting in it. even tho the G is an awsome car, it is Everywhere!!! like, ive seen 3 today alredy and its not even the weekend ( i also saw a slr silver on red ) this one was 150ish K and it has 227 miles on it. but the colour was ugly, it was red, with no stripes (and it wasnt a good red, very plain and american) PLUS its cheaper than a G spyder.

........In the same price range as an SL65 is a Gallardo. Which vehicle do you prefer and why.
SL65 definitely. Why? It can hold an ice hockey equipment bag in the trunk. The Gallardo/Ford GT/Porsche 99x cannot.

Now you probably don't play ice hockey but you may want/need to schlep around something that's similar sized, e.g. a pair of golf bags. The SL65 lets you drive fast and comfortably while carrying a bulky bag of stuff with you.

well i think the gallardo is hands down the way to go, in 6 speed that is. the sl's are boring and only good for a straight line, which in most cases is all you need, but it's nice to have a car that handles as well. don't get me wrong i had the 55 but have to let it go for a new 06 gallardo. no doubt in mind that i made the right choice.
