Integrated Valentine 1 display...
I wanted to see how many of you would be interested if a solution became available that would let you remotely mount a Valentine1 radar detector, and integrated with your car so that you got radar direction, band, and intensity warning in the instrument cluster where you currently get command information. This would be a much better solution than the current rear view mirror mount that some have done.
I've been talking to a company that has the means to design and build something like this, given that there is enough interest in the product.
I had a similar product in my BMW and loved it... any takers?

The Valentine OneTM is a directional field strength indicator for the 1.5cm, 2cm, 3cm, 8mm, and 800-900 nm bands, designed by Mike Valentine, W8MM. More commonly known as a radar detector.
If you are unfamiliar with the Valentine OneTM, visit http://www.valentineone.com
Software Features:
Connect to the Valentine OneTM Radar detector via serial or USB port
Emulate the remote display unit
Log radar alert data to a PC file
Software One might be useful for:
Users of in-vehicle PC's
Evaluating detector performance
Evaluating the effect of different settings in the Valentine OneTM programming
Evaluating radar sources over a driving route

I would be interested as well but only if there is a solution to place the main unit somewhere stealth and not hanging off the front windshield.
I have seen some custom enclosures on the back shelf next to the rear window that were done nicely. A few were done by custom shops in NY and some pics were posted here on the forum months/years ago. .
People have tried to separate the front and rear antennas off the main unit without any success, BTW. It is soldered directly into the circuit board and taking it off will change its sensitivity, Ive read. So the whole unit needs to be in a place with open view from the front and rear.
Is this solution using the remote display module or a something more stealth? The above picture shows what can be done already and is not what I would be interested in.

I'm probably one of the people you're talking about. I did the stealth install (with Lidatek integration into the mirror display) on my E55 and also had it done when I got my 997 S. I have heard all about how it needs to be high up on the windshield for the V1 to work well. I've suffered no loss of sensitivity in either install from the unit being hidden (I have no idea where it is!) and it works great. Expensive but well worth it in my opinion.

Also, the main unit may be hidden, but it still must have line of sight for the front and rear. It can be enclosed in a box and covered with cloth or mesh and work just fine but it must be open to the radar coming in from the front and back. As I said, you cant take the antennas off the main unit.
Good to hear that it works well down low off the windshield cause in IMO its fugly up there.

Surely Hiding the detector itself is a must. That will be an issue to solve in the meantime.
To answer a question, this would be a full integration, not just a remote display.
This would actually integrate with the vehicle's data bus, and display the pertinent information in the instrument cluster.
