Question 030 PP Standard on 2007 SL55 AMG?

I was working with the internet rep of a local MB dealer and we were using the MSRP and Invoice amounts used at Edmunds.com. For the 2006 model the performance package shows $14,000 MSRP vs $13,020 Invoice. However when they looked at 2007, the 030 PP is $0. They told me it is because it's already standard with the model. A regular salesman came in the picture and along with the sales manager confirmed it. They emailed me a sheet showing how much the total cost will be including their profit over invoice amount. Is this correct? Is there a way to verify this?

It was a 14K option for me too. if you go to the MBUSA website, it is there listed as an option. Also, I have seen 2007 SL55's without the PP (you can tell by the different front bumper, different front brakes, different wheels), so how does that make sense? Would those cars get a 14K discount? I doubt it.

I dont think what they are telling you is correct.

It is an option.

If you like the package contents and they are going to throw it in at no additional charge - jump on that puppy...and don't correct the expert opinions at the dealership....

One thing that is usually verifiable - Most salespeople are idiots and know absolutely nothing. Don't listen to them.

I'm tempted to do that and I have an appointment with them tomorrow. The offer from the sales manager is $5k above invoice. Not really a good offer as I have another dealer that said $2k above invoice. Now because of the 030 PP at $0, this deal all of a sudden seemed interesting to ignore. What I'm afraid is going to happen is that when we really sit down and have them go through the order, the "ordering" will catch this and correct it. Then the deal goes down the drain. The $5k over invoice is not good at all anymore! We'll see...

030 is an Option

and whatever car they are trying to sell you with a 030 at $0 make sure it actually has all the parts that come with an 030 package. Should be easy to see.

New SL55

Bari,

You mention $2-5K over invoice as best deals from dealers. Is that for an 06 or an 07 SL55? You mentioned both in your initial post. My dealer is saying best they could do on a new 07 is MSRP. What are the invoice costs they are quoting? Thanks.

If Fletcher Jones Newport Beach is willing to do MSRP on a 07 SL55, anyone else offering even $1 over MSRP is scamming you.

As for the 030 PP, it costs $14k and if you find a dealer thats selling it for $0, after you get your car, PM me the name of the dealer. I'll give you $2k if your dealer will seriously do it, and I'll pay him $5k over b/c I'm saving $14k.
