What DVD/NAV-system is this?
Saw this screen in one thread. Can anyone tell me what system this is or post a link to the tech specs of this system? Thanks in advance...

Wow
Now germans may be able to make some of the nicest cars - but no-one can touch the Japanese when it comes to gadgets - that DVD/NAV system is pretty amazing.

If someone manufactures an alternate DVD/NAV-system for the R230, why the heck wouldn't they make it public (i.e. advertise it like hell). Doesn't make sense to me.

i think stock is always better.... i mean i personally wouldnt play with stock unless the car becomes outdated and u want to install something current... but to remove a current thing and add something not much more advanced.... why? and the remote control... why?

There are a few people who have gone aftermarket with their NAV on this forum and have posted with pics and details.
The bottom line is that you lose all integration with the steering wheel and voice control when you go aftermarket. Not worth it to me.
My main complaint is with the sound quality of the head unit and speakers. Im going to have Reus Audio upgrade later this year and am excited for how that will improve things.
I was raised on the 2003 CD NAV, so the newer DVD NAV is much better but not near where the Japanese aftermarket units can take you. Oh Well...

Yea, thanks for the info. Still doesn't help if you don't have a good head unit which visually integrates into the flow of the interior (like the one I posted a pic of above). I think it's crazy that we cannot find a source for that.
