Connecting an Ipod to a new SL55

Has anyone managed to connect and Ipod into the new SL55, i noticed the command unit has 2 aux buttons, but iam not sure where the actual actual aux sockets are.
I have heard the Alpine vehical hub will go in the new SL55's but it is every expensive,has anyone seen it done yet?

if you have aux connections they will be in the glove box.

SL55 AMG Black on Berry Red

you can hook up the ipod from your auxillary input inside the glovebox. if you open the passenger side glovebox, look on the left wall inside the box. you will see an input for the iPod cable. then just go to "aux" option and turn up the volume. make sure your ipod volume is up as well. you can also use this auxillary for portable DVD players and watch movies in your car. but be careful! haha

I didn't think I was the only one having ipod nightmares. I've just bought a new 2007 SL55 AMG and asked the dealer to fit the ipod integration kit as on my 2006 E320 Avantgarde and imagine my horror when I was told there wasn't one. A mistake I thought so I checked and sure enough every model listed other than the R230 series SL.

So next came the e-mail to the DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance Center and the final e-mail back read:

Mercedes-Benz Model: SL-Class
Chassis No: WDB230#############

Thank you for your emails to the DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance Center.

With reference to your query to know when there will be an iPOD integration kit available for your Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, we contacted our Technical Specialists who responded as follows.

Regrettably, there are no plans at this moment in time to introduce a kit for the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Should you have any further requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I have now fired off a suitable reply which did make reference to being able to fit and ipod integration kit in to my 2006 A200 which cost me 5 times less than the SL....................
