No 2003+ SL is an investment. Sorry Doctodd33 .. even if you bought the 02-03, its worth a whole lot less now. Maybe if you hold onto it for 50 yrs and its a classic.

Good looking SL55. Gotta love the 030. The SL55 is definitely one car that won't leave my stable.

With the sales tax here in Pa. it come in just over $157,000 with all the options (Carbon interior trim) except the Distronic. I've never used cruise control before and with this beast I want full control at all times. It's a blast to drive. The exhaust note is really good. This is without any mods that probably won't happen for at least a yr.

Doctodd33 may have been refering to the initial introduction when these cars were in high demand. Those who got them early at/near MSRP made a healthy profit flipping them.
These days 2003+ SL's are purely depreciating luxo-rides.

yes, i meant when the first SL55's came out, people could flip them in a year or so and break even...or flip them immediately for $50K. The SL55 was groundbreaking....i had my car for 2+ years and it "only" depreciated by 30K....bought it in July 03 for $123K or so and traded it in for $89K in Feb 05 for the CLS55....and i had a "semi-serious" offer for $100K in January.
