Ferrari definately has the storngest brand and after reading some of the more reasent posts on Fchat it amazes me some of the crap potential ferrari buyers will go through to get a new car. The new thread about Ferrari making buyers sign a right of refusal for the first three years at MSRP and not what market value is just rubs me the wrong way. The delusional people think this will stop the flipping but in reality it will allow the dealers to do the flipping as they will buy the car back and then do the marking up.
Since you are getting your 599 soon, have you seen the contract yet? Not that most won't keep the car for three years but just the notion of them trying to double dip on a car you paid for and is your property isn't the way to treat customers that already jump through hoops to buy cars. I can't wait till the product cycle goes back to the Testarossa days where they need to discount cars to move them.

If I am loyal and play along,I will have a new car once a year with zero depreciation (very refreshing and "shocking" to me after so many Porsches,Benzes and an occasional Gallardo in my life so far).
Even if there was a contract (some dealers do make their clients sign it but "only" for a year,3 years is not confirmed yet by anyone credible,just a rumor on Fchat),with the above arrangement I really would have no objection to sign it,since for me it would be a "win-win" situation anyway.

The only reason Bentley sells more units than Aston or Maserati is because people are buying them. Both of those companies would produce what they can sell and with the new Astons their will be more than ever on the street. As far as the maserati being more exclusive, keep thinking that. Those POS's are rare, not exlusive because no one wants them.
Now I wouldn't thought of that in a million years that Bentley sells more because more people buy Bentleys, stunning revelation. Astons are rare too because nobody wants them either I guess. Funny.
Bentley is being pimped and now because Maser and Aston don't sell as many units it is chalked up to "nobody wants one". Makes sense.

...............I agree with you. I don't understand why people think that auto makers will choose not to sell you a car if you want it and can afford it. Mercedes will sell as many AMG's as they can and will Bently and Aston Martin. The production number in any product line is based on the manufacturer's estimate of how many units it can sell based on market forces. I hate to brake it to people..........No, there is no artificial limit on how many cars Aston Martin will sell just to be exclusive. The limit in how many cars Aston Martin produces is based on how many Aston's they think they CAN sell. Anyone and everyone, absolutely anyone and everyone that wants an Aston, or Bentley or AMG that can afford it WILL get one. Period. There is no velvet rope.

Been to the factory 3 times in last 2 years and I know for a fact that is what they are working on now.
That info is not "official" but is no secret either and was already mentioned a couple times in Autocar and Autoexpress.
Btw,you sound very angry and like you have some personal hate against Continentals,what happened?Someone driving one, cut you off or something?
You seem to know a lot about cars in general,be it from personal experience or reading but in this particular subject you are not very reasonable and sound like you have a personal agenda.

If performance is important, you might want to compare to a 997Turbo or F360/430. But maybe you want a plush Grand Tourer instead...
It's hard to discuss/evaluate anything in a vacuum. What else are you considering or what qualities are important to you?

Ladies have different needs from you and me,may not be a great car for you but excellent for her.

Bentley Arnage Red Label
My next door neighbor has a black/tan volante and it seems to be a fun car and I think it all depends on the color as to whether its a chicks car or not. I like the black and silvers but wouldn't even consider that seafoam color or burgandy. As to the MSRP question now that they have been out for a while there is wiggle room. If it was me I wouldn't even think about buying it new with the huge depreciation and the practically no mile steals on the market right now. Absent had one so he can chime in about the cost, new vs. used thing.

last time i priced a 430 spider at LF Sportscars, the "market price" was 70k over list. same at Tonkin..
.
if you are in the Rick M. program to purchase a new car every year from them at list price, (as long as you trade it back to them) great for you.. but those opportunities are rare..
.
add in the fact that Ferrari tries their best to make you purchase the car from your local dealer only, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth..
the whole ferrari thing is a game that i chose not to play..
.
sooner or later, they will depreciate just like every other car... it's best to have a seat when the music stops..
.
back to Aston's, the V8 is very good looking.. any way to bump up the HP?.

I would get her the DB9 coupe in the same color 007 has his DBS (dark metallic gray I think) and drive it now and then....but I hate soft tops. James Bond makes this car badass no matter how many bimbos on TV drive it. LOL.
