New to Mercedes

Hello everyone. I just recently purchase an 03' Sl55 and am having a blast with it. I just purchased a third brake light for 07' model and was unable to find a thread on how to install it. can someone show me a link. Also I wanted to change my foglights to HID and cannot find instructions on how to replace the foglight bulbs. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. This car is awesome beside going back to the dealer for shifter replacement since mines was getting stuck in park. Looking forward to learning from this forum.

I too recently had my SL serviced for getting stuck in Park.
It took a week, and they had to replace some gearshift
module that has to be ordered from Germany, and coded for
your car.

As for the third brake light, how do you install it? I was debating
getting it, but am not sure if I want it or not.

the third brake light is not very hard to replace once you figure out where the screws are.

1.open trunk
2.remove 5 plastic fasteners on the trunk latch cover
3.remove the 2 plastic pieces that looks like triangles on the sides.
4.start pulling down the trunk cover piece. be careful not to break all the little plastic fasteners. its kinda hard to pull it down without breaking at least 1. I didn't pull the whole thing down.
5. now the inside is exposed. you will see 2 holes. you will need a 10mm socket with an extension.
6.use the 10mm to unscrew the 2 bolts.
7.once the screws are out, you want to stick your finger in there and pull the metal bracket holding the light. don't pull it completely out. just slide it off the light.
8.from the outside pull the third brakelight out.
9.unplug the old and plug in the new light.
10.slide the new light into the metal bracket and screw the 2 bolts back in. then put everything back together.
it takes about 45 mins to complete. sorry about the sloppy instructions. i'm writing this on my pda at the airport right now. hope this helps.
