Estimated worth of buy-back SL65 w/ 13,560 miles?

What do you guys think the resale value / trade-in value of a manufacturer buy-back 2005 SL65 w/ 13,560 miles and fully loaded except for pano roof would be?
It still has factory warranty, so if anything did pop up liability isnt an issue obviously.

Would you buy a car like this? If not, why not? Especially since its covered under factory warranty?

What do you think its worth in private party resale or dealer trade-in?

SL65 Resale Value

I've seen one on AutoTrader a while back with 20K miles that was selling for as low as 100K (I think it was 98 or 99 thousand). So I would think 110K should be good for this one.

If I was in the market for one, I'd definately get it. Like you said, you still have FULL manufacturer's warranty until 50,000 miles. And the car is in good condition with clean title, I'd say should be a good deal. Plus, once you drive a V12 604hp/738 tq Mercedes, you'll experience driving in a whole new way...

There has been 2 out of Florida that have been for sale for months at 98k with no takers. Personally I wouldn't touch one. That brand on the title will be the kiss of death on a trade in. Most dealers probably wouldn't touch it even though the seller usually says it was a buyback for some stupid minor reason. Perfect SL65's are no a ton more at this point and in my opinion worth every penny more.

It's a "Lemon". Doesn't matter if it has a factory warranty or not, it isn't worth 80% of what a used "Non-Lemon" would be of the same year and miles. If a '05 CPO is going for 100-120K, I wouldn't give more than 80-100K for this one. Beat the dealer down. If they won't take that, just wait a while.

Agree I wouldnt buy it, with 05's selling anywhere frm 109k-130k with low miles I wouldnt think you could save enough to justify it. Unless you can get it for like 50k and plan on keeping it then you might be ok.

My sister has a "buy back" Volvo she asked me to sell for her. She has owned ot for 1.5 years and it has been a perfect car. The buy back was over a minor issue that was corrected but when I tried to sell it it was impossibe. I still have it. What a cheap Volvo?

I would only buy a similar car if it was 30-40% off retail and I knew I was going to have it a long time.

I'm in no rush, giving myself 6 months to get a 65. Can't believe how much they've dropped.

Juice It, didn't you pay sticker?

No, fortunately I didn't pay sticker but 5k miles cost me a tad over 50k for almost 2 years of ownership. The car was one of the best I have ever had but the depreciation and the fact that the body is too close looking to all other SL's was my only complaint. For almost 200k the SL65 should be vastly different from other SL's. Maybe in between an SLR and SL. When you can buy essentially the same car with a less powerful engine for half the price the resale results aren't going to be good. That said, the prices now and the soon to be 100k cars will be a hell of alot of car for the money. That engine is superb.

I would second that. The depreciation is horrible but the car performance is amazing. At 100 to 130K SL65's are a great deal for the money.

I just can't figure out what to get next to replace it...... Nothing else give you what you get from the SL65. (other than a car worth half as much in a year : )

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole for all the reasons that others have stated and this

Why would it be a buyback. Doesn't matter if you have factory warranty, if you're care is having issues that the dealer is trying to fix all the time, that means the car is theirs, not yours.

Warranty does you no good when the dealers incompetent coupled with a car that may have issues.
