Has anyone ordered or is looking into ordering a "black series"?

Ya, I got on the list when I saw the first spy pics.

I've got the number one slot at the largest MB dealer so I'm pretty confident I'll get one. Rumor says only 300 coming to USA. That would be about one for each dealer. There will be a demand for this car after the NYIAS.

I didn't think that they were doing any US versions.,...I got that from the AMG liason at MBNA

SL65 AMG

but is it worth getting rid of the sl65 for the clk63 if it comes to the us? I am sure they will not be to mod friendly so the 530hp will be all we can get out of them.

Depends, forced induction always easier to modify, but you'll need about 700 hp in the SL65 to have the same power to weight ratio of a clk 63 black series.

Its AMG's "track ready car". Weight reductions and tweaks in the chasis and suspension. Minor upgrade in hp, I think, but primarily improvements in handling. Saw the video of the slk55 black series, and the spy pics of the supposed clk63 black... any other models? IMO, MB is going to have a problem differentiating models according to their respective values. I would suspect the clk black series would fall right into the price range of an sl65.

The sl55 blk would be great. It has all the power and it is mod friendly. If they fixed the top like slk and removed a few hundred pounds and could get it down to 4k or less it would be a bad car. 4000 lbs?!?!?!?.....it better be less than 4000 lbs. It should be around 3500-3600 IMHO.

Not bad for 118k. Still considering the proposed "blown" Z06 but at this price, it would make things interesting... I figured the price would close in on the sl65.
