I just recently picked up a used SL55 as a surprise birthday gift for my girlfriend.

I purchased it early to mod it up before giving it to her.......but I have a lot to learn about the SL's.

Now the fun begins.

u giving a SL55 for your girlfriend... i can imagine u re driving at least a Maybach for daily driver and SLR or enzo for weekends..

...no pics yet - I have only driven it 20 miles to hide it at a friends house and to the shop it is getting worked on.

Right now it is getting the following done:

- Brabus front bumper
- Rear deck spoiler
- Clear corner lights
- 20" Iforged Daytonas
- New tires 255 fronts / 305 rears
- Air Ride Lowering Links
- 2007 Rear AMG tail lights
- Custom painted door and center console trim
- Tint

Then it goes to Hennessey's for:

- Pulley
- Tune
- K&N Filters
- Mod stock exhaust

Everything should be done in 2 weeks or so.

I've heard mixed reviews about Hennessey...

John is a good friend. With his pulley I should increase max boost about 3 lbs. I will post my dyno results.

I'll try to get some pics when it is done with the cosmetic stuff and before I take it for the performance mods.

It is a 2003, pewter with a charcoal interior. It is pretty loaded with keyless go and a pano roof.

It had the silver interior trim accents (door inserts, center console) which had some worn spots and did not look good. These are being removed, sanded and painted pewter.

The Iforged Daytonas I picked up used. These are bringing broken down and the centers are being painted pewter as well.

it must be really heart breaking to find out the girl driving another guy with this car... god knows what they will do in it too...

any reason you chose not to go with the new 07 brabus front bumper?

I'm doing this on a low budget.....I picked up the front bumper off another SL55 for $1k.

After all the mods, I won't have much more in this car than a new Tahoe....
