Haven't yet..the only place we have close is LACR suppose to be the worst track ever head winds, sand dirt from desert on the track, horrible if any prep, I'd hate to go all the way there (I'm in Santa Barbara) to run in the 13's
best track data from bone stock C6 w/my A4 3.15 gears etc..was 12.5x @ 110-112

Do you own both a 911 S and a Sl55 to prove me wrong? Do your own research and you will learn something new. I'll even post which magazine did these reviews. You think I'm not a car guy? I'm probably one of the biggest car nuts in the industry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_997
According to testing carried out by several American automotive publications, the Turbo model can go from 0 to 62mph in about 3.7 seconds. The Carrera S model is capable of going 0 to 60mph in as little as 3.9 seconds, and carries a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), while the base Carrera model is slightly slower, able to run 0 to 60mph in 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 285 km/h (175 mph). Note, however, that these figures contradict the conservative official Porsche figures.

Who are you trying to kid, those are the turbos posted numbers, the S is more like 4.8, You are talking to a bunch of car people here and everyone here knows thats not true. basically the SL55 will beat a 997S but get beaten by a 997tt. Don't you Porsche 997S owners start dreaming ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

I am not saying that the SL 55 is the slower car, but I am willin to bet that the odds of it getting beat i nthe 1/4 are good. There are other factors to consider besides Hp, such as weight, gearing, tranny type..etc...
Highway pull will most probably go to the SL but not 100 hp worth of a kill.

2003 porsche 996tt Ruf, 2005 SL55 Renntech
i own both a sl55 572 hp and a 996tt 550hp and the porshe is faster except from a dead start (auto vr 6speed ) first gear on the porsche is too low even though its 4 wheel drive but by the time i shift into 2end i have caught the sl and passed.

The gearing on a 997S is more aggressive, that is why a 997S and a stock 996tt wont be a bad comparison at low gear/speeds. The 997S has better gearing and less weight but the 996tt hoas all that tq.

The 63 outran the 55 all night long. Both cars were on the same ****tttte track and FYI the Z06 was running 13.0-13.7. The 13.8 in his clk is a 13.11 anywhere close to sea level! so the Z06=12.4 @ sea level. A modded 55k may KILL me on a good track but an E63 likely beats me on a good track. Fact is we have a crappy track and the 63 does better than most cars on this track. On Sunday I will be running the M5, M3 and S4! Your car likely would not crack 13 either. So a high thirteen aint bad at tall.. Also SAMMSONZ had a 12.99 @112 And I managed a 114 trap. Tonight we will do better hopefully. Come out and play .

Certainly not indicitive of the average results when these cars meet at different better prepped tracks or the streets (obviously yes they need to be driven correctly/C6 Z06 is notorious for poor results in incompetent hands)
