Anybody in Houston seen the SL75 kompressor v8????

I was shopping at the galleria this morning and this guy gets out of his car trying to act like a big shot tipping the valet like crazy to put his car upfront. I look at his car from the side and it says kompressor V8 and has the sl500 red light, dual exhaust, and no amg brakes. I proceed to go to the back and see it say SL75....wow....I keep looking and the owner goes whats funny? I say thats not an amg its a 500 which is still an amazing car, he proceeds to tell me I know nothing about mercedes when the other valet pulls up in my sl55, I get in tell the guy he's an embarassment to mercedes owners and leave. He was about to cry he walked in the galleria and everybody in the valet waiting looked at him funny while i was leaving, it was just priceless..... sadly my week hasn't been that good at work 3 workers of mine quit, but this just made me smile

Sweeet!
You can imagine how many 'special edition' M5s I already spotted. They like to disappear when I drive by...

The best is when they don't put the AMG badges on straight or on the wrong sides. Classic.

..

qhat bothered me even more is the fact that this took not just ignorance, but time. This man had to go to a BMW dealership to get the 7 in 75 bc was we all know MB doesn't have any models with a 7. Then the fact that he just did not do his research and know that it is supposed to say v8 komp[ressor and not vice versa that just angered me. The amg taillights are a quick $600 on ebay, if your rollin like that, whats an easy $600 right? The exhaust....well you can easily change that out as well. Ive seen a good fake in houston all it was missing was the AMG brakes, id give that guy some props but he's still not cool

Cool Who Cares!

Not putting anyone here down... But...

I'm just getting a little tired of all the bashing. Yes, I've seen a lot of this too, but what happened to imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

I saw a red SL550 in Mamaroneck, NY, almost brand new... It had the Zero cut off on SL550, and a AMG badge on the right side of the trunk... Now this is a smokin car in it's own right, the guy should have been proud... It did not have the Kompressor side badges, or the Quad exhaust, or the brakes. Why he had to do this I don't know.

But You know what? If it makes him happy God bless him. He loves the 55, and obviously wanted one but could not swing it. He's a car guy, a Benz guy! He shares our passion!

Lets just give thanks for what we have, and try not to put down others, and let's all enjoy what we have been blessed with.

Best Always,

RoydRage

i hear ya roidrage and i dont really give a **** either but honestly who are these people trying to impress / get over on?

the average person doesnt know the difference between most of the cars in the lineup so theyre not going to look twice regardless so the only people who notice are other gear heads and we just laugh, take a pic or post a story on an internet forum.

i guess they are there for our entertainment, thanks posers!

They are not here for our/your entertainment.........they are here because they are like most of us............

Flawed in Character........

IMO, you have a definate character flaw if you attempt to pass yourself off as someone you are not.........and that includes your car/bike/boat......

Sounds like a clear-cut case of *****-Envy to me................and perhaps a little too much testoserone in this weeks' Suppliment Package.

You are a nice guy Royd...but...

They are lying, plain and simple. If you asked that guy what he was driving, he'd say SL55 AMG, which would be a lie.

I hate liars

Going to the BMW dealer to get 7 series numbers, that is just ridiculous I'm sorry I odn't care what anyone says. To top it off, tell me I know nothing about MB cars, Im sorry he deserved to be embarrassed in public

sounds like a douche bag but I bet he fools 90% or more of the people. Fact is if someone takes the time and money to make a sl500 look like a sl55 on the outside they could have almost spent the same $ as they would have to buy the 55. And what is the 75 thing all about? Did he want to be one up on the 65? Does he say the 75 is some ultra rare model that few have heard about. WTF?

That an easy question. You don't see many females swaping out badges. Men do it to impress women.

Wait. what is so funny about an E240? You do know that they have many different engine sizes in the European market right?

Maybe the guy had the cylinders bored out to 7.5L displacement
There was a 7.3 liter SL at one point. But it wasn't AMG I don't think.
I see this **** every damn day in Irvine. Just saw a "E63" with single exhaust the other day. These guys honestly think they're fooling everyone and saving $30K. Idiots but I am glad they're around, they amuze me and give me something to laugh at.

Dude I from the freaking town the car is from!! I only think its funny that you
put E240 on an E55.

BTW look at my signature and you will see I know about different engine sizes, none of our cars have badges.

If I had the nicest, fastest, quickest Merz on the Planet........I would just take the friggin' badges off.

If yer really fast/quick.............you do not need to advertise.

Chicks will come just to find out what it is you are driving........

True performance/confidence needs no badge, IMHO.
