The insurance for the SL is no where near what they are stating. They are way off....

Not only the posted numbers for the SL are off:
M5
MSRP: $82,500
Insurance: $16,220
Maybe switching to GEICO would do it - based on these numbers and what I'm paying, it surely did...

If you read the fine print it states that the insurance prices are for a 16 year old single male with 3 at fault accidents 5 moving violations and a 500 credit score

That makes alot of sense to quote for that demographic, as there are tons of 16 year old with 3 accidents, etc w/SLs. NOT!Originally Posted by E55texas

Wow, I used to think my insurance was expensive. I got my car when I was 23 and pay $2,400/yr. I love how the author says "But with the Benz front logo and center, they're not cheap to insure"...because the logo and center make the dramatic difference for insurance purposes.

Allstate...keep in mind I live in a VERY small town with no crime. I don't think a car has ever been stolen here.

I just got the new updated bill because I bought a Ferrari 360 spider. The 360 is listed as the last car on the policy and the rate is $343 to insure it.
I forgot to mention both the SL and the 360 are listed as vehicles that are driven less than 7500 mile per year. I am not sure if this saves a lot of money on the policy but it makes sense for me as I have a few cars to drive and won't rack up 7500 miles on either car in a years time.
