How old are you ???

How old are you, and what SL are you driving.

Why are you driving this specific model SL.

The SL has, in my opinion, the most beautiful design and lines ever made, and i was sold to that car, since it was introduced in 2002. I always loved "Muscle", so the decission for me was easy, nothing but an AMG would do.
I drive a seriusly modified SL55, and are at the age of 51. You are not older than you feel, and since i always have had a love and passion for cars, i am not ready to take back and behave like an "average" man of my age. Life still offers to mutch fun, and i still expect to get my share

Come forward and lets hear your story.

A SL55 delivered 8/18/07, and an E55 wagon delivered 5/11/05
I am old enough to know better. Going to be 42 in less than a month.

Just leased a 07 SL55 on Saturday.

I'm 25 and am driving an 06 SL500. Why? It does the job (for now)

I agree with charger, the SL is a beauty, inside and out. It's the only hardtop convertible that looks great with the top up or down. It's a piece of art and as an artist, I just love it

Oh stop, you're just kids.
I'm struggling with picking between the SL55 and a 997 C4S at 53.

24 in a SL500.

I bought it last year when I was 23. I was working way too hard,
and it was suggested that I get a car I would enjoy to get me out
of the office. I have loved the SL's since the late 80's when I was
a kid, so naturally I got a new SL. For those wondering, yes I make
my own money, the legit way, hard work and dedication. Also got
lucky on a few real estate deals.

I'd say more than "lucky" as you have what? About $350K in cars at 24... That costs about $600K in earnings - figuring in a few houses... you need to tell me what you do so that I can do it too!

2005 SL55, 2000 CL500
I am in at 51. Own a computer hardware firm.

After having my CL500 for 3 years I decided to step up to an AMG. Almost got a CL55. But then I thought about the SL55.
Then I went to the AMG Challenge in 2006. That changed my mind. I was going with the SL55 and never mind my friends that said the SL was more of a chick car. There is nothing "too chick" about a SL55 in the least.

Its one of the few things that makes me feel younger and makes me smile
everytime I pull it out for the weekend.

Bought mine used a year ago. Paid cash. Screw the depreciation. Its
worth the money !!!. You only live once.......

Sl55

I bought my SL55 when I was 45. My previous car was a 996 C4S and I have had many Porsche's before that. Since I can get my speed fix on the track in my race car I was not looking for a hard core preformance car but I definalty wanted power. I do not consider the SL a sports car but it does handle reasonably well for it's weight. I do love the comfort and style and when it first came out I thought it was the best looking 2 door on the road. 2 years later I still enjoy it which is rare for me. By now I'm usually looking for what's next.

But young enough not to care. right? What's this about it's being a chick car? Does that mean I get it to keep with the E55T?

My last car was a NSX which is also a great car. I have been thinking of getting the 65 but I really love the sound of the 55.

I got a bunch of older lawyer friends. They are die hard CL guys.
A couple have CL600`s and another just got a CL55 and another has a
S550. When I went SL they whined. But when the saw the SL55 they loved it. I am the youngster in that group of old farts.

48. SL55. Have always liked SL's but think the 230 styling is among the best. Wanted a car that was fun to drive but also usable as a daily driver.

Car Whore
21 and will soon be back into an SL55 again, once I am settled in my new business.
I've debated hard between many different cars and the SL55 just keeps being the #1 win for me. Sound, speed, looks, hard top convertible, amenities.

Still have my wheels waiting for me in my garage

2005 SL55 AMG
I'm 25 and I've been working in the family shipping and freight business. I also dabble in fashion design as well as the aftermarket car parts industry. I have a few interesting products coming out soon. I'll keep you guys informed.....

I grew up in a lot of places, and it didn't matter where, everywhere I was, the SL was the top dog, aside from exotics. The SL was always my dream car. My uncles always drove the SL and CL, and it was just so P.I.M.P. My dad was a JDM fanatic, he gave me his RX-7, and he had the Supra as well as the 300ZX. After owning an E55, I knew one day I had to own an SL one day, and a few weeks ago I came across an awesome deal on a 2005 SL55 AMG, black on red, fully optioned.

Amazing motor...It's simply amazing.....I can't wait to install all the Kleemann products I ordered

Black on Red SL's are so hard to find; i'm dying to find a 55/600 in that colour combo. I'd say a good 80% of the SL's out here have a grey interior, not my thing...

06 SL55
I'm 27, live in New York, NY.

I have a black/black SL55 and I bought it for its looks, comfort and speed. I've owned quite a few AMGs and M BMWs in the past, but the SL55 is definitely my favorite.

I really love the car.

2005 SL65 w/RENNtech Stage 2, 2013 MB GL550
just turned 54 last week. SL65 because my buddy up the street just got a new ZO6 and I wanted the fastest car on the street! We both own our own businesses and we have a friendly rivalry. Ill be having RENNtech ECU, TCU I/P upgrade and RT exhaust as soon as I go to Florida this winter. He won't stand a chance then!!!

Even without giving my age I know that I am the senior delegate to this forum. I have owned more cars than any sensible person should have owned ranging from pure daily drivers, muscle cars and a number of Trailer Queens. I will have to say that the SL55 has been the most enjoyable of the lot. My only complaint is the quick wear of the rear tires: and the lack of hybrid type fuel economy. Serously no complaints at all.
