SL55 AMG, SL63 AMG, SL65 AMG (R230) 2002 - 2011 (2003 US for SL55 and 2004 for the SL65)

You name it i've had it or got it...
i am going to update my 04 nav with a pioneer avic z2 and....

still retain the factory steering wheel controls. at least i am investigating it. http://www.pac-audio.com/products/pr...el%20Interface ...they make an item for the avic z2 that allows for the car to retain the factory steering wheel buttons as being functional. best part is the z2 nav system and appearance is wayyy better then the pos new nav system (i hate all mercedes nav system)....will see what happens here monday when i talk to the people at PAC..

You name it i've had it or got it...
yes i have been getting my info from a champion of stereo competitions...so he has been helping me out. i had done a bunch of searches and this was the only qualm i had with upgrading the head unit.

The only way it will work is if the canbus wires are blk and blk/wht, if they are brown forget it. I know these guys did a prototype can interface for the steering wheel controls, but it was only a prototype.

not no more, That company was bought out, I am retired. I made sure the contact was changed. try contacting them via email. They won't be available during the day because they are working on some project vehicles

agreed...but...i don't use the nav when i'm in the porsche. i actually forget that it has it...lol.

damn project came to a quick halt...i guess i won't have steering wheel controls...my canbus wire on my car is brown...means a no go. those guys from jbondox link said they have done it but the project is on the back burner....blah

Yeah they have bigger fish to fry over there... they like finding the easier stuff that is in demand. I made a call for you to someone that I know that likes to screw with this stuff, but he needs a vehicle to make it happen... I know of someone that stores theirs for the winter, and winter is around the corner here (heard possible snow next week) so maybe he can do it.
