This is one thing that Florida actually got right. Shoot the bastads dead and just give the police a courtesy call to pick up and process the remains. I think they even send in a free cleaning crew to take care of the aftermath.
From what I've read on the Sig45, if anything is still moving after you've emptied the clip, you either have no business owning a firearm or have encountered a small militia.
Sucks about the SL.

Sorry to hear about the SL being stolen. Why didn't you call MB back about Tele-Aid?

I agree, to steal an SL with it's alarm system you would have to tow it away as the alarm was going off. Plus it would not be easy to part one out. Not like a Camry. Plus not knowing when someone would be leaving a party you would have to worry as the theft if the tracking system would be activated and you would get nailed a few blocks away as you are towing the vehicle. I say inside job.

Sig45 vs 5 Years
A (somewhat) perfect example. The shooter just reached a plea bargain and will serve 5 years of a 10 year involuntary manslaughter sentence over his 2006 Mercedes.

Inside the car, the perp is trying to escape .... unless he's coming right at you.

Haven't heard of car thefts/carjackings in upscale areas of NYC/LA/SF in past ?20 yrs.....
Perhaps 90%+ of new 65s in major mkts are $0-down leased...so lease gap insurance kicks in....so car being stolen/not recovered (or in total loss collision w/no injuries to owner and any passenger) is best outcome for most guys anyway, esp w/fast-depreciating car like 65....and any good insurance co. reimburses mkt value of cars like 599/430.....

in his vehicle. But the idea of comming out of your house and seeing a flatbed pulling your car up the back. I still think a few well placed rounds into the engine area of the tow truck would be appropriate. Save a couple and hold the guy for police. Yes killing the guy is a no no.

That Sucks BAD!!
Man let me say first of all i'm sorry. Now The way I operate is simple, I never park in suspect locations for one and if I happen to be over a chicks house or even a friends home i'm always looking out of their windows at my car. I also keep a copy of my registration in my wallet just incase what happened to you happens to me and last but not least I carry a sig sauer 9 mm with me and I am trained to use it make no mistake about that. I hate a thief!!!

I prefer using a cheap disposable car if we expect to street park at evening dinner parties or restaurants (which drives my show-off wife crazy). If we become too impaired to drive home safely, we simply call a cab and retrieve the old car the next day (and it's usually still there)

You know, the more I read this thread, the more I remember that things are not always as they appear ..... especially while working in the Los Angeles area for 25 years after college.
Maybe it really was the dredded repo man after all, especially if it was a leased vehicle. The leasing company would probably have the necessary codes or even a spare key for 'ol repo man ... that's certainly a possibility, IMO .......

Maybe he sold the car and the buyer just forgot to pick it up until last week?
