extending factory warranty?
Is it possible for an original owner, of a 2004 SL55 w/20K miles on it, buy a factory direct extended warranty and then pass it on to the new buyer? Kind of a used private party CPO...

Why is it much better than CPO? What's required, current owner goes down and deals with Finance Mgr or who ever sells one and buys it?
Any idea on coverage (miles and years) and cost?

Also, when someone buys a freshly offered first time CPO car off a MBZ dealership, they can add 2 additional years for $3995 past the one year CPO warranty that kicks in after the end of the original factory 4 year warranty.
But only at the time of first CPO purchase.
Any subsequent sale of a CPO car to another buyer (one that did not get the optional extra 2 year CPO extension option) only carries the extra one year CPO warranty past 4 years, and MBZ will not allow the second CPO buyer (or even the first CPO buyer) to add that extra 2 year option if it was not selected at the time of first CPO purchase.
I know that's really complicated but that's how it's been explained to me.
