"According to Mercedes-Benz, the new SL 63 AMG sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4,7 sec or 0,2 sec slower than the outgoing SL 55 AMG."
HAHA! Thats so sweet (for us current SL55 owners that is)

Nah, id rather save ~$60k on the difference. To put it in perspective, you could get an SL55, Lotus Elise and an SLk55, or any other combination of cars equaling $130k or whatever the price. Im pretty sure everyone would consider an SL55/Elise/SLK55 more ballin than a single SL63..

I think the SL55 is an instant classic, and in some sense, the SL63 is a modification to an original work of art. So when a new SL63 pulls up next to me, I'll admire another fine MB automobile with a state of the art engine and trans, but at the same time will be happy that I picked up the the original, comfortably refined, yet true modern day muscle car that is the SL55.

.........when it is all said and done, the AMGV8K engine will go down in history as one of the truly best engines in automobile history.

2005 SL55, 2000 CL500
On more reason to keep my baby.
Nothing like the roar and the supercharger kick.
I will look forward to trying one of SL63`s when it hits the showroom.
But no Supercharger Kick ? I wonder what the Exhaust note will be like too ?
Thats one of the true "Elegancy`s" of the SL55.
It may be dated. But I think the Supercharged 03-08 SL55 will get to collector
status as the years roll by. Especially the later models that had smaller production numbers. 05-08

Dont mean to go off-topic.. But I think that looks pretty wicked! I little over the top, but still, looks pretty spiffy! What kit is that? Where the heck would you get something like that?

C63S coupe, X5M
They're gonna keep this body style for another 6 years
I know in the past it's been true but I hope it's not the case now. The SL come 2011-2012 is going to need a brand new interior/exterior.
Hoping the AMG R231 will have a folding CF roof with light weight mechanics
