Someone once wrote this:
"Good design does not take time to get used to."
With that in mind, the faults we find with the SL facelift will continue with it until the whole car is redesigned.
With the WORST of them being the side air vents.
This styling element is now found on all manner of car, from Fords to Saturns.
Great move Mercedes Benz with conforming to the design trends of today rather then breaking new ground.
IMHO, this SL will always be regarded for the "band-aid" it most obviously is.

I like the SL63 looks. My first impression though was not the best. It is growing on me fast.

I think I may actually cross over to the dark side next time and get an M3 convertible
. Ironically, I think the 3 series coupe is the only good looking BMW as well. The rest are all kinda boring. Oh well, maybe I'm just picky...

The front end just is not growing on me. Looks like a damn Mustang Hood to me. I drove one at FJ. Love the Tranny. It does rev out nice but is missing some of the torque of my SL55. But that hood has changed the sight lines when you drive it. Yuck.

And I was really looking hard at the one they had the other night at MBLN.
Taste of Niguel. The Mesh that is all Metal on mine front and rear is now all cheap azz plastic.
Going to keep mine a couple more years. Lets see what happens with the upgrade to the R230.
