My salesman sent me the options list for the 09 SL63 as I'm pretty set on it. He also said they have an SL63 coming in this month, black on black, but very basic with not options. I'd much rather wait and get the colors and options I want. Anyway, the list is not very big, and I'm surprised there are no carbon fiber bits and pieces available for the exterior.

Options are simple on SL63....030, ?P1 and not much else....Dist is codgerly 10yo tech, worthless as it's not DistPlus (coupled to BrakeAssist and BSA as in S/CL)...and PanoRoof is moronic...adding ?80lbs at wrong pt in ctr of gravity and compromising already-weak roof safety....and 63 has that awful plasticky ?leather that MBUSA specs for non-65s....though the codgerly 65 quilted leather has its own issues....

If not for MCT and 030, SL63 is an entirely irrelevant, ancient-tech car in era of CL63 030 and CL65 (or whatever new V12 for MY09)....SL's still have primitive sport seats, ancient Parktronic bulletholes, TeleAid antenna, sat radio lump and lots of ugly/cheap-looking, plasticky buttons/switches....

LOL. I take great offense to "PanoRoof is moronic. . ." That's my favorite part of the car! If I wanted über safety, I'd drive a tank!

I own a SL. It's really not THAT BAD. . . really.

But you drive a CL63?

What about the new race mode, suspension settings, and an extra shift mode?

I have the exact same spec list... you can see it has "Carbon Fiber Trim" in the top right corner.

Also, WSH was saying that the SL63 compared TO the CL63 is outdated, that the CL63's tech. is more advanced.

Guess this is really just the carbon-trim. I was hoping for the entire package (incl. exterior). well, you can still get that seperately.

Does anybody know how the policies are on that car when it comes to combining designo AND 030 and if it's possible to 'break up' and 'switch' the designo-package contents (i.e. mocha black exterior with porcelain leather or designo exterior with non-designo interior etc.) like on the current S/CL?

I don't think so, I tried to do Designo Graphite with Stone interior but was not allowed. I then wanted Steel Grey with Black Exclusive Leather which is part of the Designo, also not allowed.

Thanks - that's what I expected.
Guess the same applies to designo and 030: EITHER OR...

Please, most owners are already 350 pounds .... add their fat wife, and that's 700 pounds. Get a grip.
