first batch of 2 63s and 1 65s has arrived

as usual before everyone else . The 63s were sold by mercedes benz stuttgart for a 50000euro extra over list price, which equates to around 245000euros (320000$ each)


i had a chance to ride in one yesterday. it sounds absolutely amazing, is incredibly loud (OMFG!!!!! you wont believe how loud it is), and the gearbox is superb smooth. Cant say how quick it is. car only has 314km on the clock.


besides when you start it the rev and speedo race to the end and come back to 0... its kinda cool

i must say that build quality is really amazing. i mean old SLs were really nicely built, but this is classes above

oh and btw it looks gorgeous in person


pics of the SL65 later, and if someone wants me to post pics of the C63 AMG let me know. but i bet its old news, as weve had them for 4 months now...

Is either of the SL63s that arrived an SL63 030? Curious what will be owners' impressions of 030 chassis/lighter wheels/upgraded brakes/LSD and poss different tires, esp vs non-030

First SL63 030s arrive in LA next wk...and prob arrived in NYC a few days ago...but loaded SL63 030s are only about $150K in US...the land of cheap cars/$0-down leases....

i forgot to ask specifically, but the owner said that the car had every extra available. i will have to wait for comments as most of the cars have done not more than 500km!

A friend of mine got one of the two 63s. It doesnt have the 030 since the 030 comes with different wheels (twin spokes). Cant comment on speed and the gearbox but the car feels very well built!

Im still not sold on the way it was refreshed but it does look a tad bit better in person...it also sounded pretty beefy- like it already had exhaust.

Paid 50,000 euros over sticker and it doesn't have CF pieces (diffuser, spoiler)...

I wonder how people are gonna get license plates on the front of the car...look how the euro plate is bent in shape of the car. (Like a V)

Hmm, my guess is they provide us in the States with some kind of even bumber-filler. That's easier to do with our narrow US-plates. An attachment that would keep the huge entire surface for the Euro-plate even would probably destroy the entire appearance..
