SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL 55 rear suspension problem
i am new to this forum, glad to meet all of you MB lovers!!=)
i am currently driving a 2003 SL 55, and it never had any major problems except the "ESP Failure" massage pops up on the dash screen. i was told by the dealer that i have to change the suspension fluid pump becasue it's leaking. But is it true that MB is offering 10 years warranty on that pump now? also i started to relizes that the height of the rear suspensions were not level, one 1/2 to 3/5 inch higher than the other. have any of you guys had similar problems before?
ESP (electronic stability program) is your traction control system. A faulty suspension pump would not cause your esp light to come on.
SBC (sensotronic braking control) is your brake by wire brake system. This is the system/pump that has the extended 10 year warranty.
Sounds like there is some misinformation going on here. Probably due to poor communication between the technician, the service advisor, and yourself. Go back and get a clear explanation of the condition of your vehicle.
