1M, F550M, F550B, F40, S600, 365GTC, DBSx2, etc.
If it's in production but been assigned a VIN, my guess is you're 2 months out. THey've got to complete production, then ship the car, then go through final inspections, then deliver.

I spoke with my dealer today I am now #5 on the reserve list...they have 5 in the que right now to be delivered march and April...I should see mine in June..
They are running about 2+ per month.

I was told that u get the Vin # when the car is basically finished. My dealer says less than a month till I get the car. I will find out more tomorrow when I call Germany.

My SL55 started build on January 7th, and he is telling me there has not been a VIN assigned?
When you call Germany, please let me know as I wish to speak to them as well.

Maybe they are going to put 63 different layers of zanio on ur car? heh, just a thought! 
Does anyone have pictures of the car while its being built. I know in the G-Class/Wagon brochure they had that. 100 Days of the G-Class!

If the car has a VIN, it is in production or done.
In terms of shipping time; from the time the car was built to the time I sat in it was less than four weeks. It should be even faster on the East coast because it doesn't have to get trucked very far.
I don't know about California, but two months sounds way too long. I was amazed to hear that the time on the boat was only 7-10 days.
