8.5 x 19 and 9.5 x 19 with 255 fronts and 295 rears?

Hi guys, I got the 030 package wheels (8.5 x 19 and 9.5 x 19) for the SL55 which is came with 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear tire sizes. I was wondering if I could fit Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires with 255/35/19 fronts and 295/30/19 rears (car is not lowered, stock height). Please let me know, thanks.

You should be able to clear easily, SL55's usually have a lot more room in the rear for much fatter tires.

As far as the room or space goes, you will be able to fit 315 on 11" wide rims in there. Depending on offset, of course.
Because that's what I have...

And besides, I have trouble seeing that AMG wouldn't have more than 5 mm marginal on each side of their tires..!
Go for it!

The tires will fit the car fine but wheel width is a potential issue for the rears. The minimum recommended wheel width for a 295/30-19 tire is 10". The tire will install on a 9.5" wheel but the edge of the tread will be pulled inward to make up for the lack of sidewall. You'll lose some performance and some margin of safety.

That is the exact setup that I have on my SL55 and have not had any problems.

Spare yourselves the pain, DO NOT INSTALL MICHELIN PILOTS IN 295 SIZING, the sidewall is to soft and creates a horrible dangerous wiggle under any heavy accelleration...

Well documented on the E55 w211 section, don't misunderstand 295 width will fit fine but buy another brand IE Pirelli/Bridgestone etc.. The MP's are down right DANGEROUS in 295 sizing, like your on ice/water wiggling all-over

I switched to Pirelli P-Zero's 295/30/19 car is back to normal..

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
check the Michelin site for recommended wheel and tire sizes. I think those tires are too wide for the wheels. They will look bulged out on the sides. There should be only a minimal bulge past the wheel lip.

I have this set up on my SL55 and it works great. I believe I have 10s in the rear.

19x10 with a 295 is ok
19x9.5 with a 295 pilot sport is not a good idea at all
