'03 SL55 brake rotors to Performance 030 rotors

Hi, I was searching through the threads to see if anyone has done a rotor upgrade to the '030 performance package. Has anyone done this?

If so, does it require new calipers? Is it a simple bolt and install? My brake pads and rotors need to be changed. I wanted to see if there is was a simple bolt-on I can use from the 030 performance package. Hopefully I can re-use the calipers and just buy the rotors.

Thanks....

Sorry but the 030 rotors will be too large for your calipers (390 mm for the 030 rotors versus 360 mm for the standard). You might want to check out the Evosport rotors instead. They will save you quite a bit of weight over the OEM AMG rotors.

There are caliper adapters that will make it possible to use your calipers with the 030 rotors.

IngenereAMG, can you point me to the right direction for these caliper adapters? Also, will the 030 performance package rotors fit fine in the SL55's current setup? Ex.. do I need to change the brake dust covers, etc... I know converting from an SL500 to SL55 brake setup is pretty extensive.

Thanks....

Does anyone know how much weight the evosport rotors save? Also it looks like the 030 rotors should be pretty light as they look to be a 2 piece as well with an Al hat?

They come with a pretty penny price too. I believe like twice the price of the standard rotors.

I recall seeing claims of saving 8 lbs per rotor.
