SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55AMG Kleeman Upgrade
this is offtopic but ok

The ultimate tuner ist weineck. Watch out for the Weineck Cobra
This car kills everything!

0-200 km/h (~130 mph) in 6,5 seconds...
...and no Kompressor

If you want to upgrade your SL55 AMG the only safe solution is to take the K8 kit from Brabus. Ok, it only produces 550 hp but you will find all the warranty that you need and they will upgrade all the parts that need it (gearbox and all the others...). Choosing Kleeman will offer you more power but more risk to. Just ask to your local MB dealer to see who's the best between Brabus and Kleeman.
Basically, they're all the same: Race catalytic converters and an increase of Kompressor pressure.
Ronald
I don't only speak about the warranty of the tuner, which is obvious regarding at the price of the kit but the way MB will see your engine kit if you have a problem with your car. You can buy your Brabus parts at your local MB dealer (that's the case in france), I'm pretty sure you can't with other tuners. That's the best proof for me that MB recognize the Brabus work.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Hey folks,
you can send your car to the AMG manufaktur too if you want more power.
This is exactly right. One consideration I have on my order is to have the car sent directly to AMG for tuning. They are very expensive (well, probably brabus-expensive), however the car will be fully warrantied and certified by AMG, for service and use by any authorized MB dealership / service center.
It may be an option, however there is, as far as I can tell, no standardization regarding upgrades, etc. It's especially hard for those of us on this side of the pond to discover things. Perhaps someone closer can help?

Probably I'don't understand well as You what is the problem.
When You talk about Kleeman, You consider the upgrade on SL basic version.
I ask to Kleemann an upgrade for my sl last october receiving this details:
"Thank you for your interest in KLEEMANN. We have a compressor kit end of
November for the SL 55 Amg. The Compressor we will be using is under
production.
We can then offer you for your SL 55 AMG 640 HP and 835 NM.
This will then be the fastet SL series ever.
We have testet it and it is definitely true!
We are also on the Essen Motorshow in November and December, where
You are very welcome on our stand.
The KLEEMANN Compressor modification will cost about 25.000 €"
If the problem is rear axel, Ronald told that AMG "grant" a upgrade on torque just up to 15%.
So if we consider that SL55 has 700 NM with a plus of 15% we reach 805 NM quite close to tha torque declare by Kleemann.
If the problem is warranty I imagine that if somebody have some problem with his tuning car, every tuner probably discharge his responsability to You and Your wrong "drive mode".
If the problem is the money, I'm agree to everybody, cause 25.000 € or $ are really too much for a car that, unfortunately, is overpassed directly by mercedes with the new model (SL65 or SL600)!!
Actually I'm looking to a soft tuning (changing some parts in engine directly from my tuner). When finish I'll send You all the details. Cost of the operations no more than 2.500 € for 50 CV certify.
Bye

In my last post, under the signature, I wrote engineer, it's not true, sorry.
Your post surprise me Ronald, the brabus french export manager told me that the brabus warranty and the MB warranty work together without any problem. About the Brabus parts in MB local store, he even gave me is phone number if there is a problem.
The only exception is the official cooperation with Smart.
Ronald
Hi, Ronald, this is correct, AMG only delimit your car
BTW, it can only be done at AMG headquarters in Affalterbach.
Ronald
in Italy it's not the same.
My dealer told me that they had some problem with MB warranty on Brabus tuned car's.
Also in Italy, the "official" dealer of Brabus it's not .... good.
Some years ago, I go to this dealer and the feelings was like a "man in a supermarket".
Bye
AMG doesn't do any performance tuning except the AMG Specials conversion (SL 73, CL / S 63, C 55,...)
Ronald
thats what I´m talkin about. if u got enough cash and want a special car you just send it to AMG and they´ll do it. If I want the SL 5,5 engine and pay enough then it´s no problem

You are right when you mean that AMG stopped performance tuning like "chip-tuning" or the like.
Paul :
If BRABUS have warrenty in France, it's because they have a few partners which are MB dealers, the dealer " forgets " to tell DC France that the car is modified and there is never a problem.
Any clarification from those who know or understand these changes that have happened or will be needed would be welcome.
do you have any recomendations or insight about buying a Bentley Arnage?
Thanks,
