"The ealy 2003 cars don't have the additional throttle body that regulates the supercharger. That means you have instant supercharger power in an early 2003 car since the sc is not regulated by the ecu to kick in later.

The TB was added because MBZ felt there was too much low end power causing transmission failures, etc. "

Do you know about when the change was made? That could explain why the supercharger on my 03 (built 9/02) seems to kick in so early.

transmission failures I'm guessing thats with high miles ? around 80k+
