engine swap from M113 50 to M113 55ML (kompressor)
Hello everybody I am new to this forum and been referred by my friends that I can have some good suggestion from here. I have a 2006 SL500 catch a flood and got a water hammer and after I looked at the dealership price list I was shock that everything cost much more than for me buying a second M113 5.5ML (kompressor) engine that is pulled out of wrecked car (Engine, ECU, Wiring & Odometer). Anyhow, I need a suggestion on what do I need to change on my car to make it run in this engine? Because I mount the engine already and the ECU. It plugs right into the current body harness. But before I start and have anything blown into pieces what other things do I need? (I have heard about just having it totaled and buying a new car, but it is not that simple from the country that I lived in) Does the ECU really need to be synchronized with the Immobilizer computers (Locks)?
