what ya guys think about a green sL55?
Hello im new to the board, im looking to get into a AMG here soon. Im looking at a few diffrent cars including a e55, and sl55. I know they are waaay diffrent but i also know despite the 4doors the e55 is much quicker considering the weight.
besides the fact from what reviews ive been reading the sl55 will handle much better considering the wheel base. Im looking for something that can handle well, im coming from a e46 m3. So i know the e55 will put me to sleep when not on the gas.
Anyways ive been looking around and ive found a nice loaded SL55 that is Everest Green Metallic? I think thats the color, its a dark green. Looks classy but the pics are kinda blury and in dark lighting, any have more pics of sl55 in this color?
Is this color pretty rare? Ive never seen a amg in this color before, what do u guys think of it? I am definetly going to be modding this SL, gonna put some nice liped out wheels and front lip to the car first.
This specific green SL55 only has around 30k miles compared to all the other SLs with 40+k miles in a diffrent color, im still kinda on the edge with the green. But 10k miles is what i drive in like 1.5 years. So im not sure if its worth getting a plain silver SL55 with 10K+ more miles for another 2000$ on top of what the green on cost.
Thanks for the help,
Travis

Everest Green SL
Was able to find a 2002 C Class painted in this color, link below....
http://www.automobilemag.com/classif...696/index.html
I am not a fan of the color, and I haven't seen an SL55 painted in it.
It's not a bad color, so if you like it - go for it.
Something like this is a matter of personal taste.
Let us know your decision.......

Green is definitely different.
You can find some images of Everest Green Metallic mercedes' here: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Ev...en+Metallic%22
And using the German name for that color: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Andraditgrün%22

thanks for the replys, yeah i really im not feeling the color after i see it in that pic above in the sunlight, i would much rather have silver. Hmmm...
There is a extremely clean e55 with 14k miles that tectite grey dirt cheap... but coming from a m3 do u guys think the handling is going to put me to sleep behind the wheel? I was reading a post on 6speed about a x-m3 owner going into a e55 and he said it was a very boring car to drive.. hmmmm i was getting the feeling the sl55 would have a little more passion behind the wheel, considering ive driven a sl550 many of times and i thought the ride was great, i can only imagine it /w almost 500 horse..
Thanks Travis

I think I saw the car you're talking about on autotrader - it was in chicago, green with around 30K miles...looked like a sharp car but the pics were blurry...I was considering it myself but it was a bit far away, and I had to either sell or trade in my Sl500 for the deal to work and I didn't want to go so far for a trade in type deal.
You mentioned in your post getting a front lip for the SL55....can you tell me where I can find one? I think that may be a pretty cool idea. thanks.

I dont think you'd want a green SL55. In resale value you'd get absolutely massacred because people buying these toys want a good color combo, not just a good value, and not to mention it doesnt look good.
