SL 63 F1 Safety Car Bumper

Dear Members,

I am wondering if there is any way we can source the SL63 AMG F1 Safety Car's front bumper? I am just drooling all over the pics of the safety car... Now I really want to get that bumper on my car! Is there any way we can get it? Thanks!

I think it's a matter of a fog light delete and painted bottom bumper nose, no?

Well, whatever its is, the sl 63 would look mean without the foglights.

it's not just deleting the fogs.. it looks like the black series bumper. in fact i think the black series bumper is just a wide version of this safety car bumper.

if anyone knows where to source this bumper, please tell me... im a desparate man right now!

Yea, I suppose your right. It does look modeled after the black series bumper. But, im pretty sure it ll take a while till a company starts making one unless you custom order it. Untill that point, just delete the fogs

The front apron fitted to the pace car is the AMG body kit apron, fitted
to non AMG cars. I also think it has been re-enforced.
Checkout .......SL63 paint job....... to see what I have done with mine.
THe concept car has had to much paint on the lower spoiler loosing
the spoiler edge.

If you see the car in person, you will see that it is totally different from the SL63/SL65 or SL Black Series.

Very cool but looks like a one off, or two off in the case of the two Safety Cars.

Hi check out the SL brochure, you will see the front shot of the AMG apron.
When I look at my vid of the first F1 race it looks identical. When they say
it's not available I think they mean because the Pace car apron has had
extra re-enforcement the side you don't see. Try to view the next race
and vid it, then compare. I also prefer it that's why I painted mine.

Me again. Put SL63 Pace car in google. Then click on Autoblog, then click on
the red bar that says F1 pace car, it brings up loads of pictures. I have
printed off the full front view, it's superb. I wonder how much work would be involved in minute changes to the AMG apron to look the same. You would
certainly have a unique car!!

The black series front apron is different to the pace car. Forget it, the pace car is specially made for the track and is beefed up, It's easier and cheaper just to paint the bottom edge.

I too saw the Pace car, I decided to paint only half the bottom strip.
If you painted the whole strip it would look like the Pace car, and more like the SL65.
Good Luck.

Inden is overpriced as hell...$62,899. for the complete Black Series Conversion.

Post pics of your famous car because I start to smell BS (Bullshiet, not black series) here...

TECHART 997.2 , SL 63 AMG , SL 500 ,
came across your discussion. dunno if you still want it but if I can produce the F1 Pace car style front bumper in carbon fiber, would anyone be interested? Would probably need a group buy for me to make it worth while to produce.

Welcome to the forum. I may be wrong but you might have to become a sponsor if all you want to do is sell stuff on here.
