SL 63 is it slow?
The answer is no,but it feels slow.
The power delivery is quite linear with wide band width of power right through.
On the other hand the supercharged and turbo cars have a real surge from
200-4500 revs which makes them appear much quicker. I have a way to prove it, where I live there is a piece of dual carriageway/freeway, and flat out acceleration from the roundabout to the bridge gives you a clue just how quick the car is. This is a list. Wife's Golf GTi 8v 90, a chipped Cosworth
gave 120, a tuned Mitsubishi 1986 colt turbo 118,Subaru WRX 110 but after
a heavy mod inc stroked engine to 2.2 128, Mitsubishi 3000 GT running an extra 6 pounds of boost 128, Volvo T4 ( not mine) 118,Cosworth RS500
chipped 125, Porsche 996 Turbo auto 128,E55 128,SL55 128, and finally
CL65 135. Last night I tried the SL63, first run on auto sports 126, then
next run in manual with paddles 131. Obviously I try this again on different days in different modes so these figures are the best I have had. The cars
with auto boxes where the same from auto sport to buttons, so the new tranny is without doubt quicker than auto sport mode. My ambition is to
break 140, my friend with a big Suzuki bike says he gets over 140 easy,
power to weight again!!! Sorry if I bored you, it was just some members
saying their SL63's were slow.

Yes I just picked mine up last week (parted ways with my SL600) - i guess it's just a matter of getting use to....the other had twin turbos, and comparatively, the 63 feels slower, but you are probably right. Nonetheless, i am doing the RENNTECH upgrade and short tube headers to mine...
DMS in the UK do 560+ but I think it's only re-mapping.
Can you get K&N filters for a SL63.
I am worried that it's the torque I am missing, would extra BHP give extra torque.
