SL63 first kill with roof down
Lovely day so top down, ah that sound. Got some petrol and on the way back
gradually caught 997S black with big wheels and spoiler. Coming off a roundabout he floored it and I could hear his manky engine sloging it's guts
out, I had him every time at above 4000 rpm, eventually he submissed
and pulled over, I took the next exit, it's unbeleivable this car even blips
the throttle on down change, it burbles and bangs, superb. OK it's only a
997S and I would have lost to a Turbo, but I really love this car even if
there are faster cars.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Haha, very nice. I was on a freeway back in september and a turbo pulled up next to me started punching it. I had a very bad feeling that he was gonna blow my sl55 away... surprisingly i gunned it and he couldnt shift gears at all terrible driver.

I've had a 996TT and to be honest I absolutely loved the car and always said i'd never own another marque. Since i've had the SL55 i've totally changed my mind and think i'll probably go AMG again now. SL63 is next on my list.

I now have a SL63 and it certainly is the most awsome car so far.

Seeing a TON of SL63s out here in L.A. and I'm loving the tweaked for '09 bits. Such a bad-a** ride. Completely envious, but love reading you guys enjoying a truly special ride.

I may see a ton out here but that doesn't make them any less special or incredible. Just a lot more rich people here in Cali, I guess.
I always roll down my windows to hear that incredible burble at the stop light when I'm next to one.

Hmm Hmm Hmm, is the new layout on the new sl63 really that much better than the old sl55 and 65? I know the sl63 is actually .1 slower in a straight line than the 55, not that I would notice a difference.

As much as I love my SL55, I have to admit that the 63 moves the game on. I still like the SL55's engine better, but the chassis, fit and finish, sporting nature is better in the 63...... and did I mention the gearbox!!!! Great car!

then the gear change when I went for a test drive. It's much more cutting
edge than usual for Mercedes. My SL55 was softer and prettier than the
SL63, it was almost quaint. The 63 is hard raw almost sci fi that's what
makes it so good, it's a really different Mercedes, although I miss the 55's
torque.

Interesting, I made my appointment to test an sl63 on april 18. So I will see how it goes... My trusted mechanic told me about some interesting mod options for the sl63 to get about 50 more hp out of it (headers and cat back exhaust) We will see...

The looks sound and tranny sold me mine, but I never got to put my foot down. Because it has a nat as engine you may not like the way it accelerates.
Good Luck, and please post your conclusions!
