Hello all, new to MB World. Love what I see so far.

I am planning to purchase an SL65 and would like to hear from any owner of a high miles SL65?? I know an MB can be a 250k miles car if taken care of properly. Has anyone had any major problems with their V12? I am also curious about how the upkeep costs vs a Ferrari F430 or 360 Modena?? As I begin to venture into serious sports cars my plan is to begin a collection and I want a unique MB that will remain a classic but not be a money pit.

Any advice on upkeep or known issues would be great. Thanks.

The major expense are the brake pad and rotor replacements. That will usually run close to $3K at the dealership for the fronts. Pretty much the only major issues deal with the ABC suspension, but should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty or an extended warranty that covers it. The struts have the ABC sensors built into them. For example, if the sensor goes, the strut needs to be replaced (about $2,500+ for each corner).
