Leather cleaners...
So I had a insomnia driven detail session last night with the SL65 and E55, I got to the leather and realized I only had some Armor All which I can't stand to use on leather...I finally dug up some Mother's leather cleaner and conditioner and hit every damn nook and cranny, including the convertible top surrounds...took a good 45 minutes on just the leather
!
First off, I did not realize the extent of the leather trim in this car...a good thing.
Second...anybody have another recommendation for leather conditioner for the car.
Third...I think I suffer from Detail Sleep Walking Syndrome.

Jon,
I use this stuff, and it works amazing. Not just in cleaning, but in keeping the leather looking fresh. I highly recommend it.

1Z and Leatherique are both good products...I've stuck to the simple tried and true Lexol products; the leather cleaner then conditioner...in swipes is best to avoid overspray...

Olin...luckily there wasn't any Armor All on the SL65...it just look a little dull (i.e. dry look)...the Mother's help recondition it but I know there has to be better stuff. I ordered the DetailerDomain leather cleaner and plan to try the Lexol to see what I like better.

I like to clean everything first. Youll be surprised the dirt you get out of it. Then let it dry a day or two. Then lexol.

I used to be a pro detailer and all the products aforementioned are great,
Phil at detailers domain is a great guy and can answer all your question.
I recently used leather master trio which is a good product too

Best thing I have ever seen is..
that leather rejuvenator from Griot's garage. It gives a super nice look , and fantastic smell. Been using lexol, leatherique, factory stuff. I put it on by hand, and lather it into the seat, and let it stay until it dries in. Light wipe and it's done. Best I have seen.

Is using leatherique or the product Marcus Frost recommended OK when you have those big holes for ventilated/heated seats? Or will the solution drip into the seats and damage the massage/electronics contained within them?

OK folks - I am going to let you all on to a little secret. I ran across this stuff at a Motorcycle rally here in AZ. It's called Purple Slice (see below web-site). I have a black Harley and two other black vehicles. Here in AZ during the summer it's blazing *** hot which, it's harder than hell to detail your car or, just plain wipe it down in the summer ( in the shade or garage mind you). This stuff is a great, wipe on-wipe off product with "NO" streaks.
I called my distributor and he hooked me up with thier leather product. WOW - awesome stuff. Wipe it on an the leather feels like butter. Great product - very easy to use...

Do you guys know if I can get Leatherique at a department store or do I have to pay there $20 for shipping for the cleaner and conditioner? Anything good that sells locally at department stores?

Coming from an S2000 background, I'm a big fan of 303 Aerospace Protectant, especially with convertibles as it has a UV blocker:

I tend to use the 303 on the interior trim, usually after using Lexol first to first condition the leather, then 303 on top to provide some UV protection.

Isn't the factory stuff Lexol? Has anybody compared the factory stuff to 1Z Einszett or Leatherique to see which is better? I'd be very interested in the results.

Hands down Leatherique is the way to go. Consider this the Menzerna of interior care. It is head and shoulders better than anything I have ever used. Done correctly the interior will look absolutely perfect with zero tacky getto shine.

Several MB's Superperformance MK III Cobra
If I want to do a quick clean and condition I will use Lexol and it is ok. When I use Leatherique rejuvenator oil and pristine clean it is amazing the amount of "dirt" that is removed. Also the appearence and feel of the Leatherique is much more natural than Lexol which initially has a sticky feel and somewhat of a shiny look.

Zaino leather is a bottle is the BEST smelling leather condition I have EVER smelled. It lasts for weeks!
I have no idea if the stuff actually works well to condition the leather but Ohhhh that smell! Heaven.
