Sounds like a great trip!

2. Parts of Georgia and South Carolina I95 need help. Driving on the right lane was like driving on roads hit by land mines...

3. Driving 90mph was like driving 50mph...this baby is the ultimate cruiser.

4. I actually fit my golf clubs in the trunk...taking out the clubs from the stand bag (only type that will fit)...putting the bag in first and laying the clubs across the trunk above the bag. My travel bag sat on the "shelf" behind the seats and my hanging clothes laid on top of the clubs and golf back in the trunk.

5. The looks the car got on the road and the gas stations were priceless.

6. The OEM stereo system is OK just average. Thank god for satellite radio.

7. There was more wind noise coming from the rear driver's side window area. I think I'll have MB check it out to see if a new seal is needed. Also, the OEM Potenzas are really noisy.

8. I LOVE keyless go. The functionality and the look of the shift knob was a hit with my buddies...

I just took a quick run to LA about 200 miles roundtrip, you're on point about the look's from peeps since my new paintwork I had a rice rocket tail me on surface streets in LA for about 10 miles gave the I did likewise then I ripped a rolling burnout @ 25mph the guy freaked out we both pulled into the same gas station, he was in awe took a few cam phn pix really cool kid

When are your new wheels due?

No doubt 70mph in the SL was torture but it turned into a game for me as I kept checking the MPG in cluster..

I took a trip to VA beach and back in my sl500 when I had it and my sl55 just recently, it's around 500 miles round trip....same route & similar conditions etc.... my observations:

1) Sl500 was more comfortable (who knows maybe the seats were softer or maybe I don't have the 'perfect seating position' on my sl55 yet set to M1), I could go longer without stopping at least to stretch 'n what not...

2) if I went avg 70 or so mph with the sl55 I'd get good mpgs, around 23+ which was really good I thought for an SCV8....AND even with LOTS of heavy foot driving thereafter that number only dropped a few mpgs to like 20 or so

3) in the Sl55, I felt more of the road, much more than the sl500; like nearly every bump in Sport mode, with abc on.
