I picked up an 03 sl55 a few weeks ago and have been having a blast! Just on the way home was in a run and gun with a 911 playing around on the highway, and have a grin from ear to ear. I know it may not be the greatest and fastest thing out there, but, until that SL65 appears at my doorstep one day, I couldn't be happier! You can't call friends and talk about it, they'd think you sound like you are bragging, so I thought I'd post something here and share my enthusiasm. I don't think I would have bought it without all the great tips from reading on this site and how great people were about answering my rookie questions along the way. Thanks for everybody's help!

I am right there with you Drew, just bought my 03 SL55 with 16000 miles on the clock and I couldn't be happier! Just came out of a 05 SLK55 ( original owner ) and wasn't sure I was going to enjoy the SL as much as the SLK, but I like it much more. Two different breeds for sure, but the comfort and the creature features of the SL spoil you quickly. Good luck with yours and enjoy!

I came out of a 800rwhp Z06 which got totaled in an accident by my sister. Way more luxury and definetly a smooth ride, I'll tell you one thing mine will not stay stock for long had it a week and already lowering links and wheels on order.

I just got a 3 year 24K mile warranty and ended up paying $2500. In the 2 weeks I had it I already got paid $1000 back of it for little stupid things on the car that I didnt like.
