Man why don't you just buy an SL 63 and whack a Weistec supercharger in it, would be done in about 3 days. Forget custom cams, ported heads all that stuff, it seems hardly worth it, 3 years after for what might not yield even the same horsepower/torque as a supercharged SL with stock internals? Surely that must be an option by now

Oh, and of all people you should understand that just like you like your 63's is the same reason I like my 55's!

With the current negative events at Evosport and lack of progress I decided to have ACG (Automotive Connoisseur Group) complete my engine build. My SL55 arrived at ACG's shop in San Diego yesterday and all my parts are soon to follow. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I look forward to completing this ridiculous never ending build and start enjoying my SL55!!![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)

True and I totally understand your suggestion. However, that's not an option for me because personally I much rather the look my 2005 SL55 over the 2009+ SL63. I like the classier looking SL's compared to the sportier looking SL's and definitely not the current R231. Yes, I know my SL55 is now outdated and Mercedes AMG is always building something better, look at the all new twin-turbo V8 beast! I know my modified 55K can't hold it's own against a modified twin-turbo V8. But at this point in the game I'm just interested in making my 55K all it can be and for me it's totally worth it! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I've seen your build and all I can say is hopefully one day I'll be breaking suspension parts like yourself or drivetrain parts like blackbenzz!!

My next engine project will be to sleeve the block & upgrade the bottom end components but you are right maybe I should look at strengthening up some other parts first.
I am really starting to lean more to gutting the ABC & putting in a coil over package, My thought here is take out all the lines & everything & then switch out the tandem pump with a BS PS pump I betcha no more broken parts & I see weight savings too!
I have also already started to look into drive shafts & there is a custom shop right here in the central Ohio that specializes in this

While the problems Havoc has encountered are anomalous, **** does happen. For the most part however, at least speaking for myself I don't care if I can buy a newer one done already. It's fun to build cars, fun to learn about new things, and you meet and learn a lot about people too. You encounter all types, and you figure out who the guys who do real business are and who are the *******.

Wow. I can't believe the time and patience here, Havoc you better have the most powerful 55k in the world after this is all finished. I remember when this build started. Seems like ages ago. Hopefully not much longer till it's done.

Well, not much has been done, but thankfully there's not much left to do with this one motor. The heads were ported and I have the PTE cams and Ti retainers so the heads are done. I'm still waiting on the custom JE forged pistons to come in, but I'm not going to wait much longer and will purchase an alternative if they don't arrive soon. I have to purchase a new 82mm TB, upgraded fuel line and larger injectors because those are missing/stolen, other than that I have everything else to bolt on, to include an SLR blower. My HRE wheels are missing/stolen so I'm going to use my heavy 19" 030 Performance Package wheels for now..
I also plan on rebuilding my VRP 5.7L motor which needs to be rebuilt to include re-sleeved, new pistons, and rework the heads with new cams. This motor has larger pistons, larger valves, and increased compression. This is the motor I would like to put the Weistec 3.0 blower on!

Are you saying the 82mm TB/INJ's & your expensive set of HRE's/tires magically vanished like a fart up in the wind (STOLEN) by notorious Vadim? Or did these parts go AWOL w/screw up's @ Evodump's like your $40k-$50k to ea builder wasn't enough? Someone pretty much picked the bones clean..

ACG is helping me out in a big way since I'm OCONUS and I appreciate all they are doing for me. I'm a true car fanatic and I'm not going to let crappie business folk prevent me from moving forward!

No, they went AWOL at Evosport after a mysterious break-in/robbery soon after they were locked out of their shop last month. At this point, I'm just happy to have my SL and the majority of my parts back. Loosing all that would have been jacked up.. ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

"AWOL" is a term used in the United States Military to describe a soldier or other military member who has left his or her post without permission. AWOL is an acronym for "absent without leave" or "absent without official leave".
"ACG" is Automotive Connoisseur Group, the shop where my car is now at.
"OCONUS" is an acronym meaning Outside the contiguous United States.
