Its a must . Im in South Florida. I didnt tint mine too dark but it looks tasteful.
If your down south. Theres scotts mobile tinting he will come to your home or office. Does good work and uses the best films.

I had it done by HotSpot Tinting (http://www.hotspottinting.com/) at their location behind CarTunes on Roswell Rd and 285.
They were recommended by my MB Dealer and I am pleased with their work. They offer both Llumar andd Huper Optik film.
Call 770-988-8831 and ask for Bridgette.

to the original poster...tinting is good for 3 reasons: 1) privacy 2) heat reduction (probably the most important in summer months, even in the mid atlantic east coast and def the south for sure) and 3) it looks good
BUT is there any way to get rid of the adhesion issue to the dot matrix on the rear glass??

I'm not familiar with Global film.
The difference that Huper Optik offers over Llumar is that is a ceramic film versus dyed but it came at a $100 premium.
the upside is that ceramic offers double the level of heat reduction but I was told the challenge with ceramic is that the metal in it can sometimes cause the navi signal to bounce.
FWIW, I put samples of both on my window and went with Llumar. Bridgette didn't try and give me the hard sell to ceramic for the extra $100
