SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: My first ticket in the SL65...
I pull over into a gas station and roll down my windows and rush to get out my registration and license...while I'm doing this the officer uses his PA system and tells me to step out of the car...BTW my buddy and I were headed to a gun range in Lakeland (20 minutes away)so I'm packing a Sig 228in my glove compartment and my Mossberg Persuader Elite 12 guage in the trunk (and he has his HK .45)...so I was kind of nervous.
So I'm standing next to the car and he tells me I was doing 58 in a 45...I wasn't about to argue with him AND then he says I must like black cars and that he wanted to see my windows...He brought out some kind of meter that slides onto my windows (both the large and small side window)...Needless to say...my windows fail the test.
I'm thinking to myself that I am about to have to bend over...THEN he asks me a couple of questions:
1. Where are coming from? Sir we just got done playing golf. Then he tells me that he's been stopping a lot of golfers today.
2. It's Sunday and I give people a choice on Sunday..So what do you want?...A ticket for speeding or a ticket for the window tint? I'm thinking to myself...is this a trick question...but I eventually muttered out "...window tint sir."
3. Ok...Do you want a ticket for 1 window or all 4? I'm flustered but I finally said "...one is fine sir." He then proceeds to tell me some officers could ticket me for all four...I just smile nervously.
So he proceeds to write me a non-moving violation ticket for $96.00. He small talks me while he is writing me a ticket and I realize that he could have been a real ***** to me...a speeding ticket plus 4 separate tickets for each window. I nervously respond to his small talk and gladly take the ticket...the last thing he says is if I get stopped again for the window tint to just show them the ticket he wrote.
I think I'll take the $96.00 ticket instead of the $600 to $700 bill...Thanks to Officer Waggoner for being relatively cool with me. Live and learn.

I have a friend of a friend that is a trooper he once wrote 18 tickets in 12 hours. One guy argued and asked him if he could find anything else wrong with his car and got 5 tickets.
Glad to hear all is ok.

Even though I have a concealed weapons permit, I still wouldn't like spending the next hour explaining what we were doing with guns and shotgun. I was about to tell him about the weapons in the car but he didn't seem inclined to hassle me hard after the initial contact (e.g. he used his PA system to tell me to exit the car and go to him)...If it was a situation where he told me to stay in my car and he came to me, I would definitely inform him and keep my hands on the dash and not make any sudden movements.
My buddy in the car had been stopped in the past with a firearm in his car and when he pulled out his license out of his wallet, the officer saw his CWP and asked him if there was a firearm in the car...he said yes and was about to point towards it...as soon as he did that the officer pulled back and drew his sidearm...effectively scaring the shiat out of my buddy. It's ironic we were talking about that when we were driving up....

That could have been much worse. But didn't you mention that you are Capo Regime of Central Florida in the V12TT La Cosa Nostra?!?! I am sure he would have poopied in his pants and apologized for the inconvenience....and his insolence!!!
