Possible ABC issue?
While cleaning my car ('03 sl55) today, I noticed that the gap between the tire and fender on the passenger rear is significantly smaller (~1") than the gap on the drivers rear. I started the car and cycled through the ride heights, but in each setting that wheel had a consistently smaller gap than the one on the opposite side of the car. What could cause this and is it ok to drive the car like this? I'm really hoping that it's an easy fix, but logic is telling me to get ready for an expensive repair. Also, is there anything I need to do with the ABC system before jacking up a corner of the car? I intend to pull that wheel off to have a look at everything behind it.

GOOD LUCK!!!
the problems with the abc suspension on the sl55 are legend and well documented. below is one of many threads on this subject. fixing this is going to be EXPENSIVE. i would recommend repair only if you have insurance! otherwise get rid of the car!
my dealer could not repair my suspension. mb eventually gave me an sl63 (along with a small "upgrade" fee).

No codes or warnings yet. I jacked up the car to remove a wheel and afterwards, it seems to sit at the appropriate height compared to the other wheels. I'm planning on getting a warranty before anything significant shows up just in case.
